Hip hop artist Young Buck found himself at the center of some unwanted media attention last week after a trans woman claimed to have engaged in a sexual relationship with the G-Unit rapper.
As soon as the story broke, an onslaught of criticism ensued. Social media lit up with mocks, jeers, and transphobic slurs:
I hope this Young Buck gay incident ain't true. My god. These rappers are loving boy pussy now. SMH
— Shawn Orjiakor (@shawn_orjiakor) September 3, 2018
Why are we laughing at young buck being caught with a tranny but supporting a bunch of tranny rappers that openly show it on music and in the way they dress?
— NINO BROWN (@NINOBROWNMIAMI) September 7, 2018
Why they got young buck out here begging a tranny to remove a video of them getting their relations on ???
— Richiewalk (@thaboyrich) September 4, 2018
So Young Buck done got himself caught up AGAIN? Lmaoooooo!
— Mama Tea (@_TheSweetTEA) September 3, 2018
Meanwhile, hip hop blogs became littered with homophobic and transphobic headlines, calling Young Buck gay and misgendering his accuser.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Now, Young Buck’s own G-Unit bandmate, rapper 50 Cent, is getting in on the action.
Over the weekend, 50 Cent posted a video of a young African man denying to news reporters that he had sex with another gay, along with the caption, “Young Buck explains gay allegations from Africa”:
The post was shared with 50 Cent’s 20 million followers and has accumulated nearly 2.5 million views, over 150,000 likes, and more than 17,000 comments.
Of course, this is hardly the first time 50 Cent, who himself has been the subject of gay rumors, has made disparaging remarks about LGBTQ people.
In 2015, he complained that Empire, Lee Daniels’ acclaimed LGBTQ-inclusive series about a hip-hip music company, had too much “extra gay stuff.”
In 2014, he suggested Diddy, Rick Ross, and ex record exec Steve Stout were in a gay relationship together.
And this tweet from 2010 is still up on his Twitter feed:
If you a man and your over 25 and you don't eat pu**y just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol
— 50cent (@50cent) September 30, 2010
As we’ve previously stated, there’s absolutely nothing gay about a cisgender man hooking up with a trans gender woman. Not only that, but who cares if he did?

Why is this even news. Everyone knows allot of these Rappers are mysogonist homophobic neanderthals. Too bad their music sucks. I could have something to boycott.
Kangol
Not all of it sucks. Some of it is great. But definitely boycott anyone you feel is promoting homophobia, and get others too as well. It might wake some of the homophobes up.

“As we’ve previously stated, there’s absolutely nothing gay about a cisgender man hooking up with a trans gender woman. Not only that, but who cares if he did?”
As a point of interest is there also nothing gay about hooking up with a transvestiste (also under the trans umbrella according to Stonewall) and where’s the magical departure point vis-à-vis TV and TG and “gayness”.
mr guy
Crossdresser* rather than “transvestite”

Trans: An umbrella term to describe[…] a wide variety of terms, including (but not limited to) transgender, transsexual, gender-queer (GQ), gender-fluid, non-binary, gender-variant, crossdresser, genderless, agender, nongender, third gender, two-spirit, bi-gender, trans man, trans woman, trans masculine, trans feminine and neutrois.

Rap on the whole is not progressive, has not progressed, and is not a culture made for progression.
There is a strain of rap that is, but when you get into the Lil Uzis, Boosies, Chief Keefs, Kodaks, Migos, you’re not going to get anything but the usual. The rap industry wasn’t made for gay men, unless they do some Omar from The Wire ish and even then, him liking men will ALWAYS be a punchline.
Donston
50’s mother was a lesbian. There have been years of rumors about 50 hooking up with dudes (including Young Buck) and having homo-centric threesomes with women. While Vivica Fox has been desperate to not do subtlely suggest that 50 may be homo-leaning. You’d think all of that would equate to him knowing better and he’d keep his mouth shut when it comes to rumors about other people’s love and sex lives. But apparently not.
If even rumors of a (frankly) has-been hooking up with a trans woman eqautes to them being a laughing stock and an internet meme you know being a succesful openly gay/homosexual/homo-leaning/trans-leaning male rapper is quite a while away.
Kangol
50’s mother is a lesbian, and a number of rappers have openly gay family members. In 50’s case he allegedly hooked up with Soulja Boy; there was the homoerotic XXL cover featuring them with 50’s arm wrapped around Soulja, and it caused an uproar. A lot of these rappers going off on Young Buck also freaked out about Mister Cee of NY’s 103.9 when he was exposed as being into trans women a few years ago, but a lot of it seemed to be deflection surrounging their own pasts. OTOH, don’t forget about the new generation of rappers like Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, etc., who wear dresses and shifts, and dare anyone to call them out. Young Thug famously featured an album cover, JEFFERY, in 2016 with him in a full dress. Google it; it’s quite a (stunning) sight.

Queerty is incorrect… again. Just because a man thinks he’s a woman, doesn’t make him a woman. A man who “transitions” to a woman is still a man, at the end of the day. So, yes, it’s very gay.
I have no idea why Queerty has jumped on the trans bandwagon. There is no commonality between gay men and trans people. We should not all be lumped together, it’s insulting. LGB. End of story.
JaredNorthcutt30
May I share a story to have Donston butt in? (Interesting how gay men overreact with victimization. And he’s literally painting that victimization brush with broad strokes in the comment section.)
JaredNorthcutt30
Heres why the T is necessary. Im an asexual transwoman. Surprise! For years, I had ex-gay therapy. What happened with that, you ask? Evolution into asexual transwomanhood. That’s what happened. It existed on a continuum. So yeah, you can wash your hands clean of it. The unintended side effect? Two plus two equalled four. I have more in common with you than a lesbian. That’s why. I answered your question.
Donston
Jared, you’re the one obsessed with constantly playing victim and painting all cis men, especially gay men, as evil. Your story could be an important one. But instead, you’re only interested in pushing your personal anger. This constant bitterness and anti-gay propaganda doesn’t assist gay/homo-leaning/homo-dominant men or trans women. And once again, your response barely has anything to do with the article or the post you’re responding to.
This is partly why so many gay-identifying men don’t want to attach themselves to the trans or the bi/fluid/pan/asexual movements (outside of ignorance). Too much of it has an underlying that is anti-gay, anti-male and/or victim-based. And all you’re doing is feeding into that stereotype and causing greater divide.
Donston
Also, I’m pretty certain most dudes who go to conversion therapy would rather just be a gay/homosexual/homo-leaning male than become an endlessly bitter, angry, anti-gay asexual trans-woman.
SnakeyJ
@JaredNorthcut30: You just proved my point. You thought you were gay, you are not. That doesn’t mean you get to attach your trans-identity to gay men’s sexuality.
JaredNorthcutt30
Oh Snakey J, sweetie baby. And what makes you think that you get to attach your gay identity to the heterosexual institution of marriage, pray tell?
JaredNorthcutt30
Where did I say gay men are evil? Where? Please. That’s a victim narrative in your own head.
JaredNorthcutt30
I have not saod one anti-gay thing. You might want to get that victim narrative checked, bro. You do the same thing to other posters. The one kvetching about it partakes in the same behaviors. It’s a tale as old as time. And frankly, it’s pretty transparent.
JaredNorthcutt30
Misandry? Sure. Gay men are evil? You’re stretching, holmes. Better go after that black gay guy and accuse him of racism or some shit.
JaredNorthcutt30
And lastly, I aint playong victim. Im explaining to a transphobe my perspective. How one and one made two. Am I victim? Hell no. I’m moving past it and coming out the other side. I suppose we shouldnt address your struggles with your sexuality if someone tells you that gay is phase. Isn’t that right, Donston?
JaredNorthcutt30
Please enlighten is. How are you contributing to the divide by equating “has beens” with trans sex? That’s some strong, divisive language. But sure, you’re a modern day MLK after you lambaste the black gay guy. Im rolling my eyes so hard.
JaredNorthcutt30
Excuse the typos. My points stand.
JaredNorthcutt30
Here’s a question you should be asking in the era of MeToo. Why are all these movements “anti-male?” Instead of pointing fingers at the black gay guy, perhaps you should build a bridge to fix it. As it stands, you’re in the same league as Donald Trump.
JaredNorthcutt30
To clarify, I did not equate gay men to victimization. I’m literally repeating Donston’s own psychoanalysis in every Queerty thread EVER. He likes point out self-pitying victims. Then he does a “woe is me” and 50 Cent is a homophobe routine. The very definition of irony.
Xzamilloh
Who the hell are you talking to??????
Donston
You sound nuts as usual.
How is saying 50 should know better considering his circumstances and the rap “community” continues to promote male-focused homophobia and toxic masculinity equate to a “woe-is-me” post? All of your posts can be summed up as, “I was raped twice and had some bad boyfriends. So, I transitioned into an asexual trans-woman. Thank god I don’t have to deal with guys anymore. And please, all the gay men who frequent this site feel bad for me and feel ashamed of yourselves and I suggest you give up on the ‘gay lifestyle”. Other than re-iterations of that you contribute nothing. You don’t have anything to offer but bitterness and victimhood.
JaredNorthcutt30
I have no interest in gay dudes feeling bad for me. It’s about education. Say, you have trans friends. Is your best friend black, Dontson? Once again, it’s all about the perspective of the respectable white cis middle-class gay. All other perspectives must be measured with that yardstick. And honey, that’s pretty much your entire comment history on this site. I’m white! I have a penis! Newsflash: It’s 2018, bitch.
JaredNorthcutt30
And Donston, again, where have I daid anything about a “gay lifestyle.” You’re sounding like a victim here. Before yoy accuse trans persons of victimhood, you might wanna look inward.
JaredNorthcutt30
And Donston, again, where have I said anything about a “gay lifestyle?” You’re sounding like a victim here. Before you accuse trans persons of victimhood, you might wanna look inward.
JaredNorthcutt30
Another thing. Dismissing my remarks as nuts? They’re been doing that to women for years. Trace the etymology of the word, hysteria. Hello Charlotte Perkins’s “Yellow Wallpaper” short story about the pathological institutionalization of female mental illness in the late 1800s. As this thread proves, an umbrella exists uniting these same themes under the GLBTQ+ acronym. In the midst of that, people like Donston seeks to exert the white male narrative over black gay men. Is it any wonder we got Trump as president? He’s an avatar for our times.
Curtispsf
I think Jared’s talking to Alex Jones’s famous Lizard People. Can’t you SEE them? They’re EVERYWHERE ! /|\
JaredNorthcutt30
Hardly. I can’t stand Alex Jones.
Donston
First, I’m black. Second, you’ve spent multiple posts sh*tting on gay men (not just men in general). I’m sorry you were raped and had some shitty boyfriends. But if you’re truly happy about being an asexual trans-woman then you should only be interested in sharing your story and supporting others and supporting change. Instead, all you offer is redundant resentment. You claim you are cool with who you are and the life you live, but you seem to want all gay men to suffer or give up a “gay lifestyle” and are completely dismissive towards homophobia. Indeed, it is 2018. It’s supposed to be about reaching out and trying to understand and assist each other not continue bitterness and divisive tactics and playing “who is the biggest victim of society”. You’re certainly not the only one who does that, not matter where they fit on the gender or orientation spectrum.
Donston
Furthermore, I am getting very tired of “queers” who were molested by so and so, raped by so and so, and/or grew up being oppressed and rejected and now contend with constant resentment, social discomfort, dissatisfaction, a fragile ego, self-hatred and/or depression looking for a specific demo to blame all their problems on (most of the time the target is gay men, white people, trans people, women and effeminate men). Your trials, your anger and your internal struggles are not everybody else’s fault or issue. That’s something I had to learn.
And yes, you absolutely sound nuts. Even my couple of trans friends and my baby mama agreed with me on that.
JaredNorthcutt30
Donston, You keep bringing it up. I don’t. I’m happy with my life. Am I not allowed to talk about my perspective? No offense, but I’m not sure you understand how The Internet works. It’s kind of tiresome. I’m back to argue some more. You can change the channel anytime.
JaredNorthcutt30
I sound nuts. Great. A bunch of random ass people I’ll never meet. My feelings are super hurt.
JaredNorthcutt30
Do I want all gay men to suffer? Donston, you might want your own head checked. Again, that’s victimization narrative. I never said such a thing. For example, in another thread, I do think it’s richly ironic that gay men want to promote tolerance while lambasting an opponent with ageism. Like Donald Trump, you can invent your own narrative of ‘how I want gay men to suffer.’ The fact of the matter is thus: You’re a random person on The Internet. I’m living my life. I don’t care. Here’s an idea. Quit commenting on my posts and I’ll do the same for yours.
JaredNorthcutt30
And lastly, if I spent so many posts ‘sh-tting on gay men,’ I’d like you to bring one of them. You haven’t. Here’s how I’m going to help you stop being a victim, sweetie. Quit being butthurt. Get the f–k over it.
JaredNorthcutt30
And lastly, Donston, please let me know where I used ‘gay lifestyle’ once. You lying ass idiot. Thank you and good night to you and yours.
RobtheElder
We would all be so much better off if we let everyone be responsible for their own sexual relationships. As long as a person keeps his sexuality to himself, and doesn’t push it into everyone’s face, he has a right to a life that satisfies his and his partner’s needs. It isn’t anyone else’s business, and I refuse to make it mine… RobtheElder
Donston
I also don’t care about who someone is having sex with, because imo sexual attractions and behaviors are only a small part of orientation, and it’s ultimately none of my business. However, I do have a problem with hypocrisy (and if that is Young Buck in the video and if the rumors about 50 are true then both are extreme hypocrites). I also have an issue with people who hide legitimate and long-term non opposite cis relationships because of internalized homophobia or external homophobia or trans-phobia.
