Meet ChuanDo Tan, a 50-year-old former model who’s clearly doing something right.
The Singapore-based fashion photographer has a massively popular Instagram account, crammed with fleshy snaps and slightly groany affirmations (“When you choose to see the good in others, you end up seeing the good in yourself.”)
His secret isn’t exactly a secret. He exercises obsessively:
“We believe health is very important and it opens us to all possibilities! Hence, we usually start our day by exercising before anything else, then after, we could be at the shoot, or having a meeting with a client etc.”
Not entirely sure why he refers to himself in the third person, but nevertheless he’s pleasing to look at.

Nothing more…sorry…sure some exercise help but a lean diet is essential to a good healthy skin tone and body…people are always trying to find the magic key but lack discipline and commitment to doing simple things and there lies the problem and the setbacks…
I am 42 (43 in November) and people ask me all the time this and that…
I am eager to share that people DO NOT get enough sleep (7-8 hours a night…I get 9 hours because I LOVE SLEEP) for various reason some self-imposed (turn off your phone /any electronic device and get some black out curtains ) and others not so much (some people have erratic work schedules)…
Also DRINK LOTS of water and stop drinking so MUCH damn sugar in everything thing especially in coffee and other over the counter beverages including fruit juice…just eat the damn orange or apple…JUST STOP IT…
Lastly, make your meals and stop eating out those meals are full of salt and fat!!
I get up at 5 a.m. so the black out curtains are kinda irrelevant. Everything else you say is spot on.
Black out curtains for sleeping…turning off ALL ambient lights in the room…most people sleep in a room that has light coming in…
Americans could be doing so much better if they would eat actual food and not processed foods; drink water and ditch SO much coffee and other sugar drinks…
You’re absolutely right. This article could’ve put in a bit more info on his secret but doing some research. All it said was he gets up an exercises, which tells you nothing. And yeah he does look better than many twenty something year olds, but he’s also got a strict exercise regime, he seems to have a positive outlook, but that’s just from his posts. He’s got good genetics too.
When I saw he was Asian I was less impressed. I don’t know what the saying is, that is similar to black don’t crack, but Asians have it too. Genetics? Oily skin? Better diet? Culture and race? White people have fair skin that gets sun damage easily which is the worse thing for wrinkles and aging. Asians hold up well, but when they go, they GO. Like overnight.
“Asian don’t raisin.” Though Asian people, like people of African descent, sometimes do age visibly at the same rate as Caucasians….
Especially when they like to party all the time. Ok that was my Asian friends. Believe me. They aged just as fast as me.
Many gay men look older because they CRASH and BURN; partying in their 20s and 30s creating horrible habits (sometimes under the guise of fitting in) that are hard to break and then they lose momentum in their 40s and beyond….also work and other pressures are on you as you get older and without already establish positive habits (making your meals, reducing your alcohol intake, exercises, etc) things can go down hill fast…
I guess 50 really is the new 30.

Bottom line: its not about age (excuses) but about fitness, health and wellness in life’s discipline…of which the vast majority of the LGBT community lack.
The bottom line is that you look at a fraction of a group of people. Those of us who are not as visible have good health.
I don’t know how many avid runners have gone for a run and not come back due to a heart attack.
He’s really handsome, and clearly takes good care of himself, which is key. I just wish Queerty would go beyond the easy Instagram stories, though I do appreciate positive ones like this about hot guys, especially men of color.
Remember fat in food does NOT make you fat. Fat is a substance, like protein, which makes you feel full. Sugar makes you fat. Cut out sugar. Sugar appears in “low fat” foods as a substitute to give it taste. Your body can only process so much sugar at once so it turns the rest automatically into body fat. Also, there is no substitute for exercise.
MAKE YOUR FOOD AND STOP BUYING PROCESSED and PREPARED FOODS…EAT ACTUAL FOODS!!!
