Frank Ocean has been testing us and we are about done.
It has been four years since his Grammy winning debut album “channel ORANGE” was released and he has been teasing fans ever since with his long anticipated and forever delayed sophomore effort, “Boys Don’t Cry.”
The most recent deadline of July just came and went, like so many before it, and the latest word is that it will come out today. We only half believe that, and that’s only because we really want to believe.
We may not be at the point of tears just yet, but we are getting close. Give us the album, Frank! We beg you. We are tired of waiting and we are sick of what it is turning us into.
Here are six things we are ready to stop doing as soon as “Boys Don’t Cry” is finally delivered to us.
1. This:

Rock, and wait, and check, and rock, and wait, and check, and rock, and wait…Come on already!
2. Believing in conspiracy theories
In 2012, Ocean said in an interview with The Guardian that he may never make another album. He said he might write a novel. Was he serious? Has this all been some kind of hoax? Is the instrumental music from the live stream video on boysdontcry.co the album? And what’s with the woodworking in that clip? Has he become a carpenter?

We require answers.

3. Checking Twitter every ten minutes
Is he trending? Is it out? Any new developments? Refresh…
I was finally about to sleep then saw Frank Ocean was trending a now have been on edge staring at an empty room. ?? pic.twitter.com/hqBJCQukpz

4. Staring at that empty room
Seriously, though, what is this? Is this some kind of metaphor? A super troll power move? Again, answers. We need them. Or, better yet, how about the album. Jay Versace speaks for all of us here.

5. Listening to “Wolves” on repeat
We’ve got the version of Kanye West‘s song “Wolves,” featuring Ocean on repeat, while fooling ourselves into believing that it is anywhere near as good as “Boys Don’t Cry” is going to be.
But in the meantime…
6. Faking patience
Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?…

No, really, are we?
charlie_jackpot
He’s not gay, he just said the story about the crush to get attention
Kangol
@charlie_jackpot: But is he straight? I’ve seen zero proof of that. Anyways, this cutie is milking this album release for all its worth. It better be good, Frank Ocean. Seriously.

Maybe if he pens a new open letter about feeling “trapped in the wrong body”, he will have sophomore success. Or maybe a VF feature: “Call Me Francine”. lol
@charlie_jackpot: It was certainly was some of the best PR he could’ve gotten back when he debuted. I knew he was publicly questioning his sexuality before I heard him sing anything. Question is, will people still be interested now that he’s already exploited ambiguous sexuality (ad nauseam)?

@Masc Pride: Why am I not surprised at your hate directed at a man of color living his truth? He dated a male model after his album dropped for a while. He had every reason not to be honest about his attraction to males and yet he was truthful about his experiences. He was in a star group before he went solo, so he didn’t need the attention. He didn’t do press about coming out as bisexual, just let his music speak for itself.
List of things you can do instead of attacking Frank:
1. See a therapist about your issues with femme gays and self hate
2. Masturbate to pics of Trump while trying to earn your father’s love
3. STFU and skip stories on Queerty about femme gays, blk gays and culture that put your panties in a bunch
Scribe38
@charlie_jackpot: actually he dated a male model openly. He also started a needed conversation in the hip-hop community about LGBTQ issues. What have you done? Oh yeah attack a LGBTQ singer or no reason. Good job!

@Scribe38: Keep on swiping that expired race card, Scribe! You telling someone else to seek therapy is absolutely rich. Before we bring fathers into this, how about you search for yours and actually meet him for the first time. 😉
