Well the adorable Jonas Brother didn’t get nominated either. Ratings will suck.

I’ve seen Evita and let me tell you that our beloved Ricky Martin is NOT carrying that show. His performance is mediocre at best. He didn’t deserve a nomination.

As Neil Patrick Harris sang at last years Tony show… “Broadway’s not just for Gays anymore”
LOL
@Texndoc: When a new lead goes into a continuing show he/she is not eligible… It is only the first year that a show runs that they can be nominated.

This has got to be the most disheartening Broadway season I have ever seen. Nothing but revivals all over the place and the one original play (Clybourne Park) is merely a loose derivation from a well-known classic.
As for EVITA, Ricky Martin’s failure to garner a nomination is hardly a snub; this production should never have been mounted in the first place. Che Guevarra is NOT the star of EVITA and putting a star in that role while casting an unknown as Eva Peron not only upsets the dramatic balance of the piece but it’s insulting to the intelligence of the audience.
I, for one, will NOT be watching the Tonys this year. I have pretty much lost all interest in Broadway.

@Texndoc: The adorable Jonas Brother was not eligible, because replacements (he replaced Daniel Radcliffe) cannot be nominated–only original cast members when the show first opens.

I like James Corden a lot.

Isn’t Gore Vidal bisexual? Or he claims not to believe in sexual orientation at all? Or does that mean he’s closeted?
amo
Correction: Raul Esparza isn’t gay – he’s bi.

@Scott Amundsen:
Follies was terrific, it was an excellent year for straight plays, and if you were lucky, you got to see Hugh Jackman’s stage show.
