Though there are several companies on this list that certainly belong here due to their unflinching support of the LGBT community, I would love to see a list put together by a grown up that does not use “the relentless parade of very hot and nearly nude manflesh” as a qualifier.

Amen! And I would like to see some information beyond their marketing strategies like how they actually treat their lgbt employees — and —the employees of their offshore contractors.

I hate how Nordstrom is always excluded. They’ve always scored in top tier of best places to work for lgbt, as well as scoring high on lgbt advocacy.

(Disclosure: Proud editor of HIMYF here.)

Unfortunately our dollars are not very gay this year, quite sad really…Auntie is making old fashioned Christmas candy and cookies for all her friends…And of course my husband has me, so he needs no other gifts…All I want this year is for everyone to something nice for themselves or someone else…Happy Holidays bitches, light a candle on the Winter Solstice.

Fuck you Queerty! Why do you never showcase gay entrepreneurs? Macys and Apple don’t need your dumbass help. What about a REAL small, gay owned business like Squidfire.net ?

Influenced by the Ancient Greek Lenaia festival, Brumalia was an ancient Roman solstice festival honoring Bacchus, generally held for a month and ending December 25. The festival included drinking and merriment. The name is derived from the Latin word bruma, meaning “shortest day” or “winter solstice”. The festivities almost always occurred on the night of December 24…Christmas or Christ’s Mass is one of the most popular Christian celebrations as well as one of the most globally recognized mid-winter celebrations in the Northern Hemisphere. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, called the “son of God,” the second person of the Holy Trinity, as well as “savior of the world.” The birth is observed on December 25, which was the Roman winter solstice… Christians steal everything from every one…Those bastards, killed Kenny…

While I do get the point of this article/list, it bothers me the amount of unconscious consumerism this encourages.

In addition to that, all of those companies are not liberal, GLBTQ friendly.

You really want to shop at Target with the crap their owner puts out his money for?
Does them selling some rainbow crap really make you feel better?
How about all the ageism/beautism that goes with that awful Abercrombie & Fitch?

Is it OK with you that all of those products are made in other countries employing near slave conditions labor while this country has just dried up and blowing away with the current economic winds?

      Wake the hell up.
Start acting like someone with a political conscience and higher moral values.

Apple’s Tim Cook is out, though he is rather low-key about being out. He has a long-time male partner.

@Sammy Schlipshit: Why buy stuff when you can make really nice holiday treats for people…My best memories is going to my Nana’s and having yummy homemade treats.

@SarahFrantz: Sarah, thanks for that information. I wish they had mentioned that in the article. The Ali Forney does marvelous work and I’m happy to see this bundle with a portion of the proceeds going to them. Definitely purchasing as gifts.

I think it’s nice to hear good news for a change! And it is my hope that as time goes on, more and more companies will be gay-friendly.

There are no pro-gay or anti-gay companies. There are only pro-money companies. They adopt whatever marketing strategies they think will bring in the biggest bucks.

Is that the same Macy’s who have a contract to “expand the Donald Trump brand” ? The same Donald Trump who hates gates, women and non whites ?

Is this the same Macy’s whose CEO is a personal friend of Donald Trump and who, along with Donald, has been lobbying Congress to end Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and food stamps ?

I will NEVER shop at Macy’s ! ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS ! Macy’s is as evil and dishonest as the Catholic Church.

Oh and I forgot to add that KROGER and MACY’s both gave money to Texas Governor Rick Perry in exchange for him to stop the recent Equal Pay for Women legislation. MACY’S is a HORRIBLE company !

Why don’t we choose gay owned companies like http://www.top2bottomgames.com and support gay owned business and not giant shareholding companies?

@Ryan Mason: Because I don’t have a hot label, or hot men to sell it. DUH.
