As you enter the vigorous vetting process of deciding which A-List: New York performer you’re going to hate the most — and not because we told you to do it, but because this is how all people, gay or straight, watch reality television — it’s time to feast your eyes on photographer Mike Ruiz, who says things like “beautiful,” “cool,” and “your girls look fierce” (when discussing breasts).
what is on his head?
Wel this show should send gay rights back about 50 yars
@Jeff:despite how i feel about that guys hair, i detest comments like that.
that was so boring. C-SPAN is more interesting.
I only have 1 thing to say.. ‘Starbooty’
Mike Ruiz is like everyone else on teh show cocky arrogant superficial and full of himself.Gee Logo I think this show might be a winner! NOT!
These people that Logo features for shows lately just seem so unhappy and unpleasant. I have no desire to share my precious down time watching men like this.
like him much better visually without the beard. hes a pretty hot guy. IMHO
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
I wasn’t aware that Harvey Fierstein had a younger brother………
To, answer his question, no, not everyone is vain, because vanity stems from insecurity, and not everyone is so insecure about themselves.
I’ve been arguing with my str8 friends for years, that not all gay men are self absorbed. with an all about me
attitude all the time.
perfect examples are the Jack McFarland’s of the world)
I’m starting to cave, and think its very true.
Must be my old age catching up with Me.
and I’ve noticed I weeded out those types from my circle of
friends lately, I just don’t have the time, energy and patients to listen to them anymore.
Obsessed with Lady Gaga at 40, Just isn’t sexy to me.
“Your girls look fierce”?????
Dear God. Are there really people THAT vapid & silly on Earth?
Is that a dead poodle on his head?
<3 Kelly Rowland. Not trying to discuss her breasts with him.
Actually, it wasn’t as bad as I had feared…though I’m sure Mike Ruiz is not the most vapid of the A-list (“whatever”) crew…me fears the others are far more odious.
So the guy makes a good living as a fashion photographer, works out and keeps attractive, and lives in a world where image matters, LOTS …honestly, there are worse things in the world…like being an asshole, lying-douchebag BP executive, or a being supposedly LGBT-friendly politician who will not risk ANYTHING to actually make something concrete happen to benefit LGBT’s…all ya wanna do is cash their checks before election time.
People, we’ve got waaaay more important people to ‘hate on’ than these scene-worshipping fags.
@Dennis: Actually I totally agree with Dennis, he came accross as being quite charming. He has talent and is successful so good luck to him.
Vapid, self-obsesesed drama queens with very loose morals. That’s what most reality shows are about and why most watch. I’ll watch just so I can be entertained and appalled and consider myself more “enlightened”, As in I would never do that or act that way. Of course if was was I would be watching
LOGO is the gay BET: a Viacom-owned outlet to pander to what a bunch of old heterosexual MBAs think minorities like.
I’m surprised THIS is the show that got people all upset. LOGO in general is one huge mocking stereotype. I can’t believe anyone even watches the channel let alone a single show on it.
They have a reality show about floral arrangements. Even women don’t watch shows about floral arrangements.
MTV did this crap on the regular the few times they bothered to include gay men in anything. Now they do it every single day with LOGO.
MANY years ago, I was Mike’s agent at BOSS Models. He was a very, very nice guy. Years later, we run into each other in L.A. where he turned up as a very good photographer. And guess what? He was still very, very nice.
Since then, I have worked on more than my fair share of reality shows and can tell you this, they are not real at all. I’m sure that Mike is still a very, very nice guy and I hope he gets a lot of new success coming his way from this ,or, anything else he decides to do in the future.
i like that Mike KNOWS he is vain and doesn’t apologize for it.
i like that he likes who he is and i dont get the feeling he WANTS me to like him.
i dislike people who think they are great and want to PROVE to me they are.
in this case, Mike Ruiz is asked to talk and explain how FABULOUS the life he leads is and for the most part, it does look nice.
two things though…
1 – after seeing this, i really have NO INTEREST it watch. it seems like its like any show where people lead “cool/great/interesting” lives and if i am not in that field or share those interest or passions, i could care less after 10 mins…
2 – it looks boring. he has good looks, nice body, cool job, and it doesn’t seem like there is anything there i want to follow
Why is there a dead squirrel on his head?
God, what an idiot.
