Absent from the media shit storm surrounding Bruce Jenner’s personal life has been the one voice that actually matters: Bruce’s.
Well, a two hour (two hours?!) sit down with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer is fast on its way — Friday, April 24th — and the network has just released a teaser, promising insights on Bruce’s “journey, decisions” and “future.”
The camera pays special attention to Bruce’s long hair, something the tabloids have lasered in on as evidence of gender transition.
ABC News has described the interview as we would a private jet: “far-ranging” and “exclusive.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

More free publicity for the Kardtrashian machine. Just say no.

I for one look forward to seeing it.
Major props and kudos to Jenner for allowing us to learn about his courageous and incredible journey.

I’m betting they’ll only talk about the ostensible transition a few minutes at the end, and that there will be no definitive answer.

@Avery Alvarez: I get the same feeling.

2 hours is ridiculous!!!!

Honestly ,the things some folk will do to get on TV.
aliengod
How ridiculous! He’s a sick man that needs some serious counseling! Does anyone really take him seriously?
calabrazy55
Who the ago it would have been interesting to watch. Now who cares. Just another cardashcan garbage show
calabrazy55
A while ago…..

2 hours is ridiculous. Nobody gives a crap what the Kardashians think. Focus on Bruce and it should take no more than a half hour.

@aliengod:
Plenty of people are interested in his story. He was an Olympic athlete.
Nobody takes YOU seriously. By your many postings, you are the sick one.

If long hair is evidence of transition, then the men of the 1960’s and 1970’s must all have been transgender.
Seriously, this is just a ridiculous marketing exercise for Bruce Jenner and Dianne Sawyer. Honestly, I just wish she would go away.

I am interested in this 2-hour interview/special. I want to hear what Jenner has to say. Apparently, he’s had these feelings of being in the wrong body since he was 6 years old…Glad to see Miss Sawyer get the interview. I hope this will help others feeling the same way.
jayj150
He’s a heterosexual man who becomes aroused by the thought and image of himself as a woman. He is a full-time transvestite. And why is it that ‘transgender lesbians’ are universally white and universally non operative?. Straight-identified transgender women are so much more diverse: they come in every race, some of them fully transition, others not. But the Jenner type is consistently white, consistently non-operative, and they always transition late in life. He is obviously a fetishist.
Captain Obvious
I’ve been learning more and more about actual transgender people and what they go through… Bruce is not the one to tell the story. I don’t care if he truly means it(I don’t buy it personally), he’s just not the one.
There are real transgender activists doing a wonderful job telling the story and getting people to care and be interested… even involved.
Bruce Jenner is turning it into a circus sideshow all over again. There are too many activists working very hard to educate and make change for this buffoon to come along and undo all of it on his road to attention. He’s making so much money milking this for the highest paying interview, ratings for Keeping up with the Kartrashians, and promoting whatever else.
It’s disgusting.

I wish her all the best.

@Baba Booey Fafa Fooey: Yes you are, I agree wholeheartedly.

@Captain Obvious:
“Bruce Jenner is turning it into a circus sideshow all over again”
So far, he hasn’t said one word about it publicly to anyone, so how could he be turning it into a circus? Shouldn’t you at least wait to hear what he has to say before criticizing it?
Tobi
He had long hair back in the 80’s, when he appeared in the film Can’t Stop The Music alongside the Village People.

I think the one thing that kind of sucks for LGBT’s but right now especially for Trangendered folks, is that a lot of the real stories by real people aren’t getting told, instead of you have Chaz Bono and now Bruce “Kardashian” being the ones who will be the unofficial transgender representatives. Maybe he has something good to say, but I have this feeling that not only were they paid for this interview, but that they will spend a lot of time talking to Kris Jenner and the daughters, who will plug all of their new products.
I hope I’m wrong.
Captain Obvious
@Merv: Nope because he’s the wrong person to be telling the story.
There are many people who are better suited and who have been working hard to get a platform like this to tell the trans struggle. Then Bruce with his stupid Kardashian show does a bunch of crap for attention, baits the hook, gets paid a ton for an interview, and is now telling the narrative for a struggle he didn’t live, and probably really isn’t living.
You do know reality show types do this stuff all the time right? They do something to create hype and then back out at the last minute or even go through with it just for ratings and more money?
There are trans activists who have completed their journey and have been talking for years. Why isn’t Diane Sawyer telling THEIR story?
This is all about trash money and ratings.
martinbakman
@aliengod: Certainly TV is all about money and ratings. No one will deny that.
When he won the decathlon at the Olympics he was probably the most famous man in the world for a few years. People still know of him and are interested in this.
The subject matter itself is drawing more and more attention these days. Perhaps we can name more suitable folks to interview, but B.J. works best for ABC.
Merv
@Captain Obvious: Bruce Jenner was famous long before his appearance on the Kardashians. And he wasn’t famous just for being famous, but for actually working hard and accomplishing something. I’ve lived my entire life so far blissfully unaware of the comings and goings of the Kardashian clan, yet I still knew who Bruce Jenner was. As a matter of fact, the first time I heard he was on that reality show my first reaction was “That’s weird. What’s Bruce Jenner doing on a trashy reality show?” He also has business interests outside the show, so probably doesn’t need whatever small income it might generate for him as a peripheral character. Maybe he’s actually doing this to bring awareness to the issue. Maybe not, but it is at least a possibility. And having someone as famous as Bruce Jenner involved is going to bring a whole lot more awareness than somebody no one has ever heard of, even if you think he or she might be more serious and/or committed.
Arcamenel
Yeah…I’m gonna skip this. I’m not going to make light of what Bruce is going through by calling it a farce or a spectacle but do agree that it’s odd that Sawyer chose to cover Bruce’s story when there are other trans activist who could share their stories who don’t have the money to get a platform of their own.
