ChrisK We (older) don’t. I don’t have a clue where that came from unless it’s someone in their 20’s referring to someone in their 30’s as older, and even then I highly doubt that a gay man in his 30’s has any reason to not like Adam. Probably just some bitter young queen who doesn’t have a boyfriend and isn’t complete without one.

That photo doesn’t do him justice. Being Nordic*, I knew that he’d probably have pretty blue eyes and blondish hair, but those sunglasses and cap obscure those signature features. Here are some photos of him in all his Finnish glory and he’s indeed pretty. And a VERY stylish dresser. Reminds me of a Nordic Prince in fairy (no pun intended) tales.

* FYI, he is Nordic, not Scandinavian. Scandinavia only encompasses Sweden, Denmark and Norway, whereas the Nordics also includes Finland, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

Addendum: shockingly, Finland only legalized same-sex marriages in March of 2017 — putting it way behind its Nordic neighbors and many European countries. Some attribute the delay to cultural influences from neighboring homophobic Russia. That said, Finland actually ranks high in gay equality, surpassed only by Norway.

As someone who has taught Formal Logic, Epistemology and Critical Thinking, your comment immediately flagged my Illogical Alert. How can you possibly know that he shares “everything”??? If he didn’t share it, you wouldn’t know about it (unless you stalked him or otherwise invaded his privacy). In other words, you have no reference as to what “everything” is so it makes no logical sense to accuse him of sharing everything. For all you know, what you see is just 2.8% of his life.
Furthermore, having a boyfriend is new fresh info. He had previously complained of being “f*ckin’ single.” It’s not like he’s going through a series of boyfriends like Taylor Swift.

That said, I agree with the general statement that there is too much sharing on social media. Young people, especially gays, couldn’t wait show off their relationships with mindless videos like, “The Boyfriend Challenge.” Or revelational videos like, “how we met.” Then a few months later, there’d be a breakup, and a massive video deletion. Since the relationship featured so prominently in the vlogs, users would see references to previous videos that have since been deleted. You just don’t see this need to show off relationships in older users, many of whom are in very long-term relationships and marriages. Their partners are incidental and not the focus of their vlogs, and there is certainly no need to show off.

I hope they didn’t just start genuinely dating. Wasn’t he just talking about being single a couple weeks ago? He’s almost 30. He should know better than to parade a very new potential partner on social media.
I overall like Adam. He’s a tryhard and is too needlessly over the top sometimes. But I do think he’s cute, clever, confident and mostly straightforward. But “unveiling” this relationship just seems like the lastest turn in trying to stay in the public eye. Yet, as I said, I like the dude.
