Fats Domino made waves in 1950s, but faded from view until Hurricane Katrina.

In the aftermath of the devastating New Orleans flooding, various news agencies reported the R&B singer’s death. In fact, Domino lived through the storm and CNN later showed him being rescued.

After years in the shadows, Domino took the stage again earlier this year, when he performed to a full house at Tipitina’s in New Orleans. Here’s the lifetime achievement award winner with “The Big Beat” and “Ain’t That A Shame”.
