Sometimes we let our tempers get the best of us. Tempers are like wildfires. Something or someone can easily fuel the fire…It takes a lot of strength for someone to release their anger. It takes a lot of strength and SUPPORT for someone to grow and become a better person. We all say things we don’t mean. We all say things we can’t take back…For someone who has battled with anger management issues, my dad has grown tremendously. My dad is far from a homophobe or a racist. From what you’ve read and from what media has been shoved down your throats, he has a kind heart. Having paparazzi following my mom and I has not been thrilling. Paparazzi can bring out many confined feelings of anger and spite out of anyone.
My point being, what my dad said was WRONG. What my dad felt WASN’T. Boundaries have to be made. Paparazzi have jobs to do, but some of them jeopardize people’s lives and cross a line. My dad has an INFANT CHILD to protect. All the parents out there should understand. You would do anything to protect your baby. Now, let’s all quit acting like children. Let my dad be and let him have his room to learn and enjoy his family. As someone very wise once said, ‘Be peaceful and love everyone’ COME ONNNN EVERYONE. Let’s just all be thankful that we are alive!”
— Ireland Baldwin, the model daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, using her Twitter account to defending her father against the charge of yet another alleged homophobic rant against paparazzi

Look, this is the ONLY problem I have with the fallout that Alec Baldwin is getting about this.
Sounds like he is a douche-bag with anger problems. Yes, I get that the Paparazzi is way over the top, but with the money and all the people kissing your ass with fame is that additional problem, deal with it jerk.
My PROBLEM with this, is that those odd right wing self hating gays somehow try to pretend that a guy who has supported gay rights for ages is somehow no different at all because of this outburst than one of the anti-gay people who do not want us to have civil rights at all. i.e. they will claim that Baldwin is no different than Boehner or Ted Cruz.
Nice try guys, but no matter your desperate attempts to equate the two, I’ll take the douche-bag who has some unresolved homophobia who votes for my rights and speaks out publicly in support of my rights, over the people that actively attack me and try to prevent me from obtaining my civil rights.
So is Baldwin a douche? Yes. Anger issues? Yes. Unresloved homophobia. Could be, sure sounds like it. But is he the same as Boehner, Maggie Gallagher, Rush Limbaugh? Sorry big difference.
But keep on trying guys.

The issue here isn’t whether Alec Baldwin has a temper. I could care less if he yells at or threatens the paparazzi. The issue we are addressing here is Baldwin’s use of a homophobic slur to vent his anger. We all know if he had called the photographer a racial or anti-Semitic slur, his career would be toast.

@Kieran:
Absolutely! My only issue is that there would be a difference between somebody who was a supporter of civil rights and publicly supporting racial equality using a slur and a member of the KKK.
The supporter should still face the consequences for it, but some of the weird right wingers on here will try to claim that there is no difference between the Tea Party and democrats because gee, look Alec Baldwin said this. They leave out the part about the Tea Party wanting gays to go back to being treated as they were 100 years ago and the Democrats don’t right now.

Instead of playing the deny card, “Fathead” reallY? he should do what Mike Rice (former basketball coach for Rutgers University). From what he appears to have done, according to the ABC special on him that had recently aired, he went to anger management AND he went to a LGBT group to get a better understanding of what yelling homophobic slurs means. Why is calling someone a fag the ultimate insult for a man. Admit you’re working by a older persons mentality and show that you’re trying to learn and improve.

Apparently no gay person has ever used these words….

@balehead: IKR I see gay guys using the same language on each other all the time. Guess it’s the infamous “I can say it, but you can’t” mentality. I like Alec though. He’s a whole bunch of crazy! Plus, he really only spazzes out on paparazzi. He’s not a threat to folks that don’t harass him.
