I’m so glad I voted for this man.

I’m still waiting for that change I can believe in. So far it looks like amateur hour.

I think he’s done an excellent job so far. We can’t expect a whole new political landscape in less than a month. These things take time.
Furthermore, it’s so nice to listen to a normal, intelligent and charismatic person in the oval office. There has not been one in my life. Reagan (barf), Bush I (eww), Clinton (charismatic, but had a tendency to dumb-it-down, which a lot of people liked, mostly southerns), Bush II (nough said).
Listening to Obama speak is like sitting in a lecture for your favor university subject with that one professor you were in awe over and actually grasped onto every word. Even if you don’t agree with every word and decision, it’s still one you can respect.

I just wish President Obama would spend less time channeling Abe Lincoln and more time studying and channeling President Franklin Roosevelt. Lincoln cost the Union many lives and much treasure choosing bad opposition members for his cabinet and appointing very bad generals to lead the troops in the civil war. Until Lincoln eventually landed on Grant to take charge, things looked pretty grim. Obama has no time to cycle through bad cabinet members and generals, one or more of whom may oppose him for his office in 2012. Obama needs to put Lincoln aside for the moment and concentrate on what FDR did to get the economy back on track and people back to work. He’s running out of time. He’s got to convince the GOP they’re whipped, before he can heal the rifts. They’re still full of fight and working for his defeat. If things aren’t getting perceptibly better by 2010, he’ll lose midterm seats to the GOP. If that happens, he’ll find a second term very hard to get. The GOP knows this, that’s why they’re doing all they can to make sure he fails. Now is not the time for reconciliation, especially when you enemy sees your overtures as signs of weakness. Win the economic war first (which is shaping up to be a war between the states, north vs south), then look to rebuild the national political bonds later. Make us proud Mr. President, not sorry.

I can’t help myself: whose should be who’s.

@peter: Trying to make a point there, Pete?
peter
just calling a spade a spade.

@peter: Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Racism = ignorance = dumb. Not to mention really offensive and way passe. It’s 2009, Peter, time to re-think a few things. You do think, right?
