I hate that it took him so long to feel comfortable, but I’m so glad that he is able to express himself now, and I guarantee you he will change so many lives. I’m so grateful that this disease is now being discussed again because it feels like there was such a long time that it wasn’t, and he is a beacon of light, and he will be. I’m proud.”
— Alyssa Milano speaking on The Talk about her Who’s The Boss costar Danny Pintauro, who she called “very brave” for his announcement over the weekend that he’s been HIV-positive for a dozen years,

think they are putting too much on the sweet dude.

She also said she hadn’t kept in touch with him. Didn’t know he was positive. But, that Judith Light and Tony Danza did know. She was guest co-hosting on The Talk, if you want to see what she said. It was in the opening segment of the show from Tuesday 9/29.

@jantheman4903: Eh, he does want media attention as a last ditch effort to resurrect his “career” or get some media attention.
DarkZephyr
@Bisexual-Transwoman: Damn girl, you hate this guy.
Bisexual-Transwoman
@Bisexual-Transwoman: No I don’t hate him. But this fake PR is pretty much nothing but a ploy by Pintauro’s agent to get him back in the media spotlight even if it’s just for 5 minutes.
If he wants to talk about the meth problem among LGBT and hetero people, and about being HIV+ why tell Oprah? Why not just go to the press?

I am confused what is brave about Danny Pintauro??
Danny Pintauro, told Oprah “I wanted to experiment sexually and I took meth to lower my inhibitions” Please note this occurred in 2003 (again according Danny Pintauro) when it was common knowledge who HIV was spread as well as how meth fuels the debauchery. Danny Pintauro, is among of long list of has been celebrities (I use the term celebrity loosely) who spin this narrative of young gay life as if it is the only possible way to live. I fail to see anything brave about a young gay man who makes the choice to use illicit drugs and engage in random unprotected intercourse. While no one deserves to get HIV gay men most change the narrative of unsafe, unprotected, intercourse as as right of passage.

I doubt he wants media attention to benefit his career…c’mon, he is a manager of a PF Changs in Vegas or was it Phoenix? Anywho…seriously, he says he wants to be an advocate for HIV+ people which deserves media attention. Even if his intentions are to try to get back into the business, if in the process he helps some people then it was all worth it!

@surreal33: You’re missing the forest for the trees. It’s brave of anyone to have their personal life opened up for everyone and apparently to allot of ridicule too. Hell no would I ever subject myself that and I’m sure you wouldn’t either.

I beg to differ. This was not about exposing his personal life. The crucial issue is gay men engaging in random unprotected sex and illicit drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!Please clarify how anyone can justify taking a deadly, addictive, immune suppressing drug and then proceed let multiple men ejaculate inside their body?? After engaging in said behavior disclose results as if he had no control over situation. I still do not see the bravery within the situation. Also why is that gay men REFUSE to acknowledge the deadly problem of random unsafe sex and illicit drugs? True bravery would be gay men condemning reckless sex, drugs and self-destruction instead of bending over backwards to enable such behavior.

@surreal33: Sweety it’s clear you just want to babble on your soapbox. I’m done here.
