‘American Idol’ Winner Trent Harmon Offers His Thoughts On Mississippi’s Anti-LGBT Bill
By Editors · 340 comments
You know, I was brought up in church. I still go to church. Found a church just around the corner from here and went, and I’m glad I got to go. But I was brought up to treat everyone equally. I come from a restaurant background, and anybody that walks into our restaurant, they can eat there. And I think that you should treat all people equally and respectfully, and that’s what I do, and that’s what I’m going to continue to do no matter what law is passed. That’s where I stand on it. Love all people. Period.”American Idol winner Trent Harmon asked about fellow AI competitor and Mississippi native La’Porsha Renae’s controversial remarks about gay people during an interview with TV Guide

I think Trent noticed how La’Porcha put both feet in her mouth when asked the same question and he was smart enough to duck it … answering without actually endorsing the LGBT community …
…Why is Mississippi so stupid? Why do they keep shooting themselves in the foot??? They’re making their lives worse by alienating people! Stop being cowards and display some ‘good will’ toward homosexual people!—they are all decent and useful to this human race….’Religion’ is NOT useful. And has always been a hindrance, because it basically brain washes weak minded people into complete unreasonable idiots…

He deserves the win over that elephant bigot, LaPorsha.

Best advice I have for him is to run as far away from Mississippi as he can… Stay in LA girl. The Deep South is no place for diversity
