Anti-Gay Group Acquiesces To 1913 Repeal

The Massachusetts Family Institute fought long and hard to stop same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. That said, one would think they right-wing group would be on board to prevent out-of-state gays from marrying within their borders. But they are not.

Said President Kris Mineau:

By the time the measure reaches the ballot in 2010, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of out-of-state, same-sex couples already will have married in Massachusetts.

More importantly, even if the referendum effort were successful at the ballot in 2010, this governor and this Legislature – bent on exporting the same-sex marriage experiment – could easily pass another repeal in 2011.

Now that the group’s kind of accepted gay marriage, maybe they can start to like the gays.
