Out-of-state groups spent a whopping $948,355 in two months in the successful campaign to oust Iowa’s Supreme Court justices, who joined the unanimous decision to legalize gay marriage. The National Organization for Marriage wrote checks for two-thirds of that total, spending $635,627 in the state, according to financial disclosure forms. Most funds ($435,000) were spent on television ads like this one.

Queerty, this is not news anymore. NOM Exposed has been reporting this same thing for weeks now. Maybe if you didn’t spend so much time trying to tear down advocacy groups like hrc you would have noticed this already?

And GAY, Inc didn’t notice this was going on? And pony up some support for these justices? you know…between the black tie fundraisers and awards banquets. What is the back story here? How much was spent by supporters vs the 1 mil? I’m sure those of us living outside Iowa would like to know. This may not reverse their decision, but it certainly sets a bad precedent.
