“The sky ain’t gonna fall and the world ain’t gonna end” — New York Assemblyman Marcos A. Crespo, going a little off-message at this weekend’s anti-gay rally in New York.
That’s a nice change of pace from some of the other rhetoric at this event. “Enslaved and enchained,” “abomination,” “worthy to death,” etc etc etc.
So we’re not sure if Crespo’s quote is more infuriating or less infuriating than the violent quotes above. On one hand, it’s nice that he recognizes that two dudes visiting each other in the hospital doesn’t hurt anyone. But on the other hand, that kind of makes worse that he still wants to stop them.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

So he just admitted it’s only bigotry that is behind groups like the Mormons and people like him. Thank you for the honesty.
Kev C
If he and his community are so “traditional” and “conservative” why doesn’t he become a republican?
I’m a traditional liberal conservative progressive.
So you’re a retard.
Si.
Shannon1981
He’s a jackass and an idiot, and he just, by his own words, admitted he just doesn’t want us to get married because he doesn’t like us.
TheRealAdam
@Shannon1981: Yeah, and his viewpoint basically represents EVERY person who’s against marriage equality. What it all comes down to is, they “just don’t like us.” All of their other arguments against us fail.
prohomo
He’s a smug, arrogant pig.

@Cam: @Kev C: @Shannon1981: @TheRealAdam: @prohomo: He’s a fucking politician — nothing else need be said.
James
He doesn’t want to get keep out of office by the people who vote in his district
Patsy Stoned
This jerk is nothing more than Porky Pig in “human” form. Sure it doesn’t come from a position of hate – that is the ONLY reason for it. Asshole.
queertypie
Yet another political schmuck.
Mark
He’s right the gays should not be aloud to marry.
matt baume
The person who just commented as “Mark” has the same IP and email address as “James.”
On other posts, he’s commented as “John,” and said of Don Lemon, “I hope it’s a hot guy, nobody wants to see some fat ugly person come out.”
About Antoine Dodson, “Manny” says, “This sissy queen just need to go away.”
And as “Manny,” he wrote about Chrissy Polis, “You guys are crazy so it’s ok for a man to go to the female bathroom? Can I walk in there?Just because someone wants to be a woman doesn’t mean they are one.”
“Ted” once wrote, “As my grand mother always says, there is no such thing as a black gay person.LOL” and “Larry” wrote “There are no such thing as bi guys.Men are gay or str8 that’s all.”
And “Curtis” informs us, “I’m both black and gay.I care about both, can you say the same?”
But “Jason” says, “Black people are nothing but criminals .” And “Marcus” offers, “All my gay brothers and sisters should just come here to Atalanta, there is a thriving black gay scene here where you don’t have to put up with racism.”
So many names and opinions! All originating from the same very fertile IP.
Mike in Asheville
@matt baume: Perhaps s/he has split-personality disorder, and if so, sounds as though there is a battle to be fought. But really, “Curtis” “Jason” and “Marcus” are all the same, espousing such opposing opinions?

BTW, you will come across some situation where hubbies, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, and/or roommates are actually different people using the same IP connection. In my case, my husband of 25+ years (legally married in Mass 3 years ago, together since 1986) share not only the same IP address but also the same first names. So, “Mike in Asheville” is me; “mikey” is my happy hubby.
