AIDS ads can go in one ear and out the other. We’ve all seen the billboards, posters and pamphlets: You too can prevent fresh HIV infections. Essential, yes, but not very exciting.
In an effort to keep people’s attention, a number of countries are getting creative – and disturbing – with their calls to safer action. Consider this example from France, which reminds us even Wonder Woman can catch the bug.
Here’s another creepy one from France, as well as some shots from Switzerland and Germany:

I always did find the one with the spider and scorpion a bit gross but catching. You can just vision that scorpion putting his death barb in the back of the guy with the hot ass, right after he cums. Fun times, not.

Public support for AIDS efforts has been dropping in recent years. I think this is largely due to the fact that people who become infected now are fully aware of how to avoid infection, and have chosen to not take the steps needed. You see a lot of sympathy for women who get breast cancer, and efforts to search for a cure. Not so much lung cancer, where people who get it are generally thought to be smokers who have brought the disease on themselves. The same is true of AIDS.
I don’t recall a single question about AIDS at the Logo/HRC forum (which may my fault, perhaps there were some), though some of the candidates addressed AIDS in there responses/statements. The subject definitely was not given the emphasis it would have had 15 years ago.
Will AIDS continue to be a gay issue?

you’d think that Wonder Woman would use her “lasso of truth” before sex….

I wonder why they didnt go with Superman. If I had his powers, I’d totally be a slut.

I don’t think AIDS is a gay issue as other populations are seroconverting. However, I think we have to be real here… sure, we know how it is transmitted, but that does not mean people aren’t trying to do the right thing and getting caught up anyway.
People with lung cancer — even smokers — are still received with sympathy because they have cancer. Yet, I have been noticing a trend amongst gay people to totally be down on other gay people who are Poz. Saying, “Well, it’s your fault for bad behavior” and I am so not cool with that. Not saying that anyone is saying that here, but I have come across that frustrating attitude.
