Barbara Walters Wants a View For Men, Starring Alec Mapa

Not content with targeting a daytime gab fest at only ladies and gay men, The View‘s Barbara Walters and co-creator Bill Geddie are planning a male-oriented talk show. Yes, an hour-long program aimed at demographic of which one-quarter carry stuffed animals while traveling.

The new show would feature at least two male co-hosts, and at the top of their wish lists are Bryant Gumbel and Ugly Betty‘s Alec Mapa, who KILLED IT on The View last month. (It sort of did feel like an audition, didn’t it?)

So we’d have CBS’s The Talk starring lesbian mommy Sara Gilbert, and the new guy-targeted talk show featuring married foster daddy Mapa. Hope the Parents Television Council has room on its TiVo.

(But don’t get too excited: E.D. Hill, the former Fox News host who made “terrorist fist jab” a household phrase, is also under consideration.)
