By now you’ve heard that FedEx, the shipping company with the closeted arrow, is set to begin offering health benefits to the same-sex domestic partners of its employees. That’s great! Did you also know they’re waiting until January 1, 2012, to do it? (Supposedly because the company needs time to reformat its benefits structure.) And that UPS implemented this change in 2004? And that FedEx’s heterosexual domestic partners won’t be eligible? Oh, this comes across as bitchy? Sorry! Well done, FedEx. The gays are happy.

Is it legal to exclude heterosexual domestic partners in states that allow it? It seems like that’s just asking for a lawsuit.
Kurt
UPS did it in 2004 because the employees have a labor union. FedEx is mostly non-union.
Brutus
“Supposedly.” Maybe they actually do. They’re implementing this. STFU.
