SOUNDBITES — “Once again Mike Bloomberg is talking out of both sides of his mouth. The fact of the matter is Mike will stand up in press conferences and talk the talk but at the end of the day he never walks the walk. Mike Bloomberg has consistently supported the Republican Party and its anti-gay marriage agenda. … As far as I know, the mayor hasn’t been in on any discussions with Senate Democrats or with Senate Republicans on strategy for getting marriage passed. There have been people involved with his administration that I’ve talked with and others may have spoken to, but I don’t know of the mayor personally speaking to anyone. … I remain confident it will get done this fall.” — New York State Sen. Thomas Duane battling back against NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who said he has no confidence in securing marriage rights this year

Normally I would say to Tom Duane that that was a foul move but in this case he’s right. Bloomberg needs to put the Evangelical Fascism party in order and get them to stop pandering to the Confederate Flag waving, Glenn Beck worshipping, Tea Party bloodthirsty, S&M moral masturbators of the Christian Reich!

Kudos to Tom Duane.

I’m an out of stater, from a state that hates gay folk. My thought is…these people say they are progressive as for gay rights, but would any of them marry a gay couple? How about equal marriage rights for guys who love each other?

Bloomberg has been stringing us along for years. We in the gay community have been dumb enough to fall for it.
Quite simply, the man has done little, if anything, for gay rights. He’s the type who runs with the foxes and hunts with the hounds. Only really cares about us around election time.
