Glenn Marsh, who made adult films as Blue Blake for a period of two decades, has been found dead in his London apartment at age 52 according to Gay Star News. The site reports:
Friends had not heard from him so a couple went round on Monday night (12 October) and let themselves in. They discovered the body in a chair and immediately called 999.
A Met Police has confirmed to Gay Star News that they are not investigating and are not ruling the death at this time as suspicious. An inquest will follow.
Below are some photos taken from Blake’s Facebook page.

Rest in peace. I would not be surprised if it was from drugs, toxic HIV meds, or steroids.
Mark
Drugs are bad, why start them???? I never did and never will…
alphacentauri
@Mark: Pretty much everyone who starts using them either winds up getting sober or quitting drugs (including smoking pot and drinking), dead, in jail, or in a metal hospital.
James Sigmon
Sad
NoCagada
@alphacentauri: Is a metal hospital any worse than a concrete hospital?
alphacentauri
@NoCagada: I wouldn’t know I have never been to a mental hospital but I have known people who were in them for drugs and they said how they did not go in voluntarily.
Stache99
@alphacentauri: You say he possibly died from “toxic HIV meds”.
Please elaborate on that because I’ve never heard of someone suddenly dying that way. Is this real or are you just talking out of your ass?

A fine writer, filmmaker and a warm human being with a splendid sense of humor. I’m certain the universe welcomed him home with joy.
brooklynbobby
@alphacentauri: Why would you even make such a generalized statement? “Pretty much everyone”. That’s just idiotic. I know plenty of people who have and still do smoke pot and drink who are not either dead, in jail or in a mental hospital myself included. I’m detecting a little judgemental attitude here. Usually when I hear or see something like that I immediately flash on AA mentality. I don’t do it so no one should. It could possibly have been from something natural. Why do people always have to the most dramatic and ugly places. It’s shameful really.
orcanyc
Rest in Peace Mr.Marsh, you brought much joy to this world.
Jim McHardy
Very sad

@alphacentauri: “found dead sitting in a chair” is seldom the result of drug use, and were there to have been indications of drug use or steroid use, there would be police investigation. HIV drugs cause specific problems in those who do not tolerate them, and very rarely sudden death. The same is true with steroids.
Unfortunately late 40’s early 50’s is a time when a small percentage of otherwise healthy men drop dead from unexpected first heart attacks with no prior indication of heart disease. I lost two cousins that way at 52. A childhood friend lost her father that way when he was 50. And an occasional trick did the same.
All porn actors are not immersed in drug abuse, nor are they all suicidal or depressed.
Brian
If porn is prostitution, then it could be said that prostitution is never a good business to get into. It’s probably one of the most sordid, soulless professions you could get into. Pornographers couldn’t care less about the beauty of sex or sexual liberation.
Stache99
@Brian:”sordid, soulless”… So are YOU.
Stache99
@dwes09: That’s the truth. I watched a documentary on Netflix last week called…”the widowmaker”. We all have potential time bombs in our chests and the survivability is dismal if you’re not fortunate enough to get medical care within a short amount of time. My step dad just experienced one and my best friend had his at 38. They have a new way of testing the likelihood of heart attacks by looking at the plak on the artery walls.
Look at guys like John Ritter. Didn’t do drugs but just died one day from a heart attack that hit him without warning. By 50 we should all be getting tested no matter how healthy we feel.
Btw. drugs and steroids can still play a part even after quitting many years down road too.
Stache99
For those that are too young to remember that the three’s company guy. Funny show from the 80’s.
Rob91316
@Stache99: Umm…hello…where have you been for the past 20 years??? I thought it was common knowledge, at least in the gay community, that long-term use of HIV meds cause irreparable heart damage. Many HIV+ men who have had their lives extended by these drugs for 20-30 years are now dropping dead from heart attacks at relatively young ages (50s and 60s). Am I just being too presumptuous in having thought y’all were well aware of this??? Another reason to continue practicing safe sex — because even though HIV may no longer be a death sentence, the side effects from the drugs needed to keep the HIV virus at bay can be fatal.
Stache99
@Rob91316: How does anyone know it’s not from just normal aging. Like I said before my step dad just had a heart attack and my best friend did too. Relatively young and neither is HIV positive. It’s true that you run an extra risk but to say hiv = heart damage is something I’ve never heard before.
Do you have info on the statistics?
Stache99
@Rob91316: This link is probably the best I found. Yeah, anyone with hiv should be checking their cholesterol/triglyceride levels very regularly. Seems to be the main problem.

Stache99
@Rob91316: Both my dad and friend also had high unchecked cholesterol levels which led to their heart attacks.
Stephen Mole
Porn star. What a shitty job. Can’t remember how many similar death articles I’ve read about others recently.
Brian
Pornographers are users. They’ll use you up and spit you out. All they want is money.
Chris
RIP; may his family and friends revel in good memories about this man.
Nathan Hemperley
Thoughts are with his family.
alphacentauri
@Stache99: HIV meds are not good for your heart, or liver and some people have died from taking them for decades or die of a heart attack or liver failure at a young age. Rob91316 explained it better.
alphacentauri
@brooklynbobby: I’ve never been involved in AA/NA or non-12 step sobriety programs. Alcohol is extremely addictive but a lot of people do drink in moderation. Pot is not harmless, as it’s psychologically addictive and it does rob people of their full potential; but in my previous post I generally meant drugs like coke/crack, heroin and other opiates, or meth.
Joe
@Stache99:
I remember. John Ritter nad his fantastic hairy chest.
I thought John Ritter was a goodlooking man. He had a cuteness to him. His son Josh has followed in his footsteps in acting and Even better looking. As far as the elder Ritter, he had a nice hairy chest which is always a turn on for me.
Stache99
@Bromancer7: I always love it when these obnoxious fools come in here with their scare mongering with no facts to back it up. I always make it a point to research before making any statements no matter how emotionally tied I am to something.
Yes there are reasons to be concerned but to say that x = y is complete scare mongering BS.
Bromancer7
@alphacentauri: And yet there are tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people that take them every day and have no ill effects.
No one wants to hear your biased bullshit. Keep it to yourself.
Bauhaus
@alphacentauri:
Piss off.
Stache99
@Joe: I agree on all counts including his son who is the spitting image of his Dad but I also agree he’s even better looking if that’s even possible.
Miles
Why are some gay men so obsessed about how other gay men die? Why not just say RIP or something nice and then move on.
Xtian99
“A fine writer [and] filmmaker”? Really? For porn… have no knowledge of him but it is not like we lost Scorsese, Spielberg or Lynch here… Why do gay men lionize porn stars? They F#@K- so what, so does everyone. And if you have no knowledge of the porn industry- go make friends with someone in it and tag along. See hoy joyous, creative and compelling it is. See how well adjusted the men in it are. Sad that he died and best to his family, but lest not blow it out of proportion.
brooklynbobby
@alphacentauri: Whatever. You obviously have your biases and know what is best for everyone.
How can you say that “a lot of people do drink in moderation”. I think you might want to aim a little higher and say that most people drink in moderation. You can’t make an inditement of the entire populace because you like to speak in generalizations.
As for pot. I have been smoking it off and on since I was 15 so that goes back to 1971. I can smoke every day or so for a month and then not smoke again for a year. I don’t have it or I’m not around it don’t smoke it and I don’t sweat it! AND I have been in a successful, monogamous relationship with my wonderful husband for 36 years and I am very happy in my job.
So. Where does that leave your theories (opinions)?
So like I said. Whatever.
Please don’t think it is necessary to respond to this. You are the kind of person who is never persuaded that what you think and say is not the absolute truth. And this was my final clarification. Stay biased my friend. I have heard that stupidity lessens you life span. 😉
M K
Those picture definitely make him seem rather narcissistic.
alphacentauri
@brooklynbobby: LMAO you’re addicted to pot. You’ve been smoking it and using it since 1971. Anyone that’s older than 30 that still smokes pot is a druggie loser.
Stache99
@alphacentauri: http://coed.com/2011/02/02/the-10-smartest-pot-smokers-on-the-planet-cool-enough-to-admit-it/.
Yes. Such losers aren’t they? This is just a very small sample too.
Stache99
@alphacentauri: Please tell me that you’re just trolling. Otherwise, I have to believe that gay men can be just as closed minded and judgemental as any fundamentalist wacko.
brooklynbobby
@Stache99: You are trying to reason with someone who has the mentality of a 10 year old. And frankly it isn’t worth the bother. When you talk about things in such broad and sweeping generalizations you do so because you are not capable of dealing with cold hard facts. 10 year olds call people names. Normal adults do not. I would wager that a person like that would have absolutely no knowledge of the people from the list in the article you cite. They aren’t cartoon characters on Nickelodeon. So obviously no Nobel or Pulitzer prize winners there! Oh well, I used too many big worlds so it will seem like I am speaking in code! LOL And as I said. Whatever.
