Six months after she was found unconscious in a bathtub in her Atlanta home, Bobbi Kristina Brown has died at age 22. The death of the only daughter from the union of R&B singer Bobby Brown and late pop superstar Whitney Houston, after weeks in hospice care, feels like the end of an era in which Houston dazzled a generation with her magnetic charisma, perfect vibrato and peerless range as a vocalist.
The Houston family released a statement Sunday, saying, “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Despite the death of her relative, singer Dionne Warwick, Houston’s cousin, followed through with a planned appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. Host Andy Cohen asked what she wanted the world to know about the 22-year-old. “Oh my, do we have enough time? She was a sweetheart and she will be missed that’s for sure,” Warwick shared. “And she was a good girl… She was a good little girl, she really was.”
For the many millions of fans of Whitney Houston, one of the most beloved and talented singers in pop music history, Brown’s passing is an unbearably sad reminder of her mother’s similar death in 2012.

Very sad. I believe she died six months ago vs. Sunday. Her body was just kept alive by machines but bobbi kristina was gone. Feel bad for the family to go through such a tragedy.
Cagnazzo82
There is no more legacy of Whitney Houston… aside from her music that is.
To anyone who remembers her heyday, it’s truly unbelievably tragic how once amazing life turned out.
darian
Quite tragic. She went to be with her mother. May she rest in peace.

Thanks mam and dad…ð??¢

Sad and horrible. It’s yet another reminder of how being raised in chaos can damage a child, even into young adulthood. I remember the Whitney and Bobby (crazy) show, and if I’d grown up in that type of environment, I’d probably be dead as well. Bobbi seemed liked a sweet young woman, but I suspect that she lived with a lot of childhood scars the world never saw. RIP.

boring
So did she, like, you know, do anything??
Bob LaBlah
@boring: Was that really necessary? You do not have a choice of parents nor do parents have a choice in children. You got what you got. Believe it or not Christy Brinkley does not want Billy Joel around their kids do to his CHRONIC drug and alcohol abuse. Too bad Bobbi wasn’t as lucky as both of her parents were out of control.
I would not be surprised if Bobby Brown has taken a nice LONG look at just what he helped create and come out of this a changed man for the better. He knows he has lost a part of his life and how he contributed to it.
Daggerman
..I mean this is very misleading. The family say she’s now in the arms of GOD?? Oh dear, surely if she was a drug addict she would be in HELL!!
Ladbrook
@Bob LaBlah: He doesn’t strike me as the introspective or self-reflective type.
Clark35
@Daggerman: Is that really necessary? It’s extremely sad that someone so young died; but I hope they are investigating her husband/stepbrother. That poor woman never had a chance sine she had people like Whitney and Bobby Brown for parents who cared more about smoking crack than raising a daughter.
Bob LaBlah
@Ladbrook: True, that I can’t argue with. I can only go with the belief that every parent, regardless of how things “went” thinks back at the funeral/gravesite of their child and asks themselves what could they have done that would have made a BIG difference in the lives of their kids. Was there something that they could have done to have prevented why they are in their grave? Did they inadvertently contribute to the child’s behavior?
As I attended the funerals of many of my friends back in the 1980’s I used to hear questions like that and see it in the faces of their family members. I see him as no different from any other parent who has some SERIOUS looking back to do. Both he and Whitney were famous, rich and VERY immature when they had her. They more or less grew up with her except they never succeeded in growing up. Hopefully now he will.

Result. They killed both Mother and Child. : (

@Bob LaBlah: I totally agree. It’s just common sense that parents who lose a child often blame themselves and wonder what they could have done differently. I know Bobby Brown is no different and probably has already started to go through that process, as the last six months must’ve been pure hell for him. Some people have missed that point because they’re caught up in sensationalism of the news story and are detached from the fact that this is someone’s actual life.

Very, very sad
redcarpet30
Is this going to be treated as a murder investigation? Or did her BF get cleared?
Clark35
@redcarpet30: I was wondering the same thing?
Clark35
@redcarpet30: Yes it is being investigated which is a good thing. http://www.msn.com/en-us/music/celebrity/bobbi-kristina-browns-death-being-investigated-as-a-homicide/ar-AAdyFk
Curty
No disrespect to This poor woman, condolences to her family but how is this glbt related news? This is a glbt site right? With all due respect.
Clark35
@Curty: Ehhh it’s queerty, they make pretty much anything “LGBT news” even if it has very little if anything to do with LGBT people, when they should be running more important news articles that focus on LGBT issues or LGBT people instead of how they obsess over naked men, guys that do porn, politicians, and men who are prostitutes.
coop69er
While I think this is a tragic end to a short life – I do not think it is newsworthy, even for Queerty, or maybe especially for Queerty. Not everyone who has a famous parent should end up on the front page. I agree with many of the comments on this post – what real relevance does this have?
asa1973
While it may not be LGBT news, surely you can make a connection. Her mother – religion and politics aside – had many, many, many devoted LGBT fans. She knew it, and she embraced us. She died young and (somewhat) unexpectedly, like many of the brilliantly talented, famous, and troubled women we love tend to do. Her young daughter reached the age of 22 while in a coma and died nearly 4 months later. The daughter of an LGBT icon has died without getting reach her potential. This is newsworthy on a gay site.
If – heaven forbid – one of Mariah Carey’s twins died tomorrow, I would expect to read about it here.
Bob LaBlah
@Curty: Her mother, Whitney Houston, kept me company many a night as I drove a tractor trailer across highway 10 in the desert. I look at it the same way had Madonna lost Lourdes, had Cher lost Chastity, had Will Smith lost either Willow or Jaden (even though it is RUMORED he and Tom Cruise are gay) or Tom Cruise losing Connor….they are icons connected to the gay community and yes, there are those of us who can feel the pain of our stars, gayness be damned.
Here, maybe listening to this can make you understand if you have ever been in love or lonely and sought relief in music. RIP Bobbi. You didn’t get a fair chance at life. I say no more.

@Bob LaBlah: You didn’t answer my question.
In fact… No one has answered my question.
Bob LaBlah
@boring: I declare victory for you. Lets move on and let the little girl RIP.
Blackceo
So sad but something I said was gonna be the most likely outcome for her. A big piece of Bobbi Kristina died the night her mother did and she just couldn’t recover from it. The irony of them both dying in the bathtub adds to the tragic nature of both of their untimely deaths. Just sad all the way around. Whitney’s talent destroyed by her inability to overcome her drug addiction and Bobbi Kristina never had a “normal” life…not even as normal as a celeb kid could have. But her parent’s issues seemed to doom her from the start.
Glücklich
@boring:
I don’t think so. Her Wikipedia page notes a handful of duets with her late mother and a few talk- and reality show appearances. Doesn’t sound like any sort of career.
tampaed
Last words she said was. I think I’ll take a bath and go visit mom.

@Daggerman: Why?
