The little spat between the two British pop acts have supposedly mended their fences, and their little spat is over — maybe because they’ve both been caught in criminal sex acts, so they’ve got that to bond over. George Michael was actually much more talented than Boy George. However, Boy George was right about George Michael trying to pass himself off as a ladies man in his videos etc. I wonder how much pressure was placed on Michael by his record company to portray himself thus.

This sounds more like a tour of featuring two near destitute has-been queens who KNOW they have no other choice. After that false break-in report in NYC a few years back I told a friend of mine sooner or later this HAD to happen because both of them would probably be just that broke and in dire straits.
And both have no one but themselves to blame for it too.

I don’t think it’s quite fair to put them both on the same level. I don’t agree with them breaking the law, but George Michael has had a lot more success in recent years than Boy George especially in England. GM did a tour there that sold out big venues and still has chart hits there. GM also toured in the US an played in quite big venues. so he still makes a ton of money touring. Boy George has had flop after flop in England and plays in very small venues.
Also GM was convicted of consensual sex in a bathroom. I think that’s quite different than Boy George’s violent assault of another person.

I’m not sure, Boy George wrote their hits, they had around 10 top 40 hits here int he US, and scored a top 5 hit in the UK in around 2000 during the reunion. I’m wondering if George hadn’t become such a strung out junkie that they would have had much more sucess. George Michael had a huge solo CD, followed up by a modest one with one hit then nothing over here. I’m thinking they’re fairly equal in both talant and the ability to screw up their lives. lol

Boy George did not write the Culture Club hits all by himself. He wrote them with the other members of Culture Club. Boy George has not had as much success as a solo artist, whereas at least in England GM had had several successful solo cd’s and many chart hits there as a solo artist. GM has shown he can write songs by himself and be successful, BG hasn’t shown that.
GM can play numerous instruments, guitar, keyboard and drums. Boy George doesn’t play a single instrument.
They both have screwed up their lives, but GM is a lot more talented.
