This just in: Colton Haynes is officially off the market.
The 28-year-old Arrow actor is madly in love with a Beverly Hills florist. He made the big reveal to his 5.8 million followers on Instagram yesterday, when he shared a photo of himself and his new beau being all lovey-dovey on a rooftop at sunset:
Colton’s new man is Jeff Leatham. According to the bio on his website, he’s the Artistic Director of the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris and “has been creating a sensation with his floral designs and installations since he first began working with flowers at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.”
He also did the floral arrangements for the weddings of Eva Longoria, Avril Lavigne, and Tina Turner, has appeared the Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, and Queen Latifah shows, and starred in the docu-series “Flowers Uncut” on TLC/Discovery.

What photographer, crew and lighting guy? Nothing in that photo can’t be accomplished by one person — either Jeff or Colton — and a smartphone (camera with a timer setting) and a tripod.

Interesting. When I read that Instagram, I didn’t get that he and Jeff are dating. I just thought that he was thanking Jeff for the amazing rooftop floral arrangement, which was commissioned either by Colton — or whoever his unnamed boyfriend is. In other words, I agree that Colton is in love, but am not convinced that it’s Jeff. For what it’s worth, there is no mention of Colton (or any boyfriend) on Jeff’s instagram. And as far as I know, there are no photos of them together besides this faceless silhouette.

I was never a fan of his and had never seen any of his work. Then he unexpectedly replied to a YouTube post of mine. Very intelligent and witty (just like he was in the Twitter reply where he came out). I really surprised by how talented and intelligent he is given that he never to college or acting school. A far as I know he went straight to modeling after high school and then into a an acting career. Yet he had shown himself to be a very good singer and dancer. Someone who can act, sing and dance is known as a triple threat in the entertainment industry. I know he makes frequent trips to New York so I assume that he’s working on some theater project.

Just out of curiosity, the show “The Real O’Neils” has another kiss between the main character and his boyfriend.
So how many posts about Colton Haynes will we get between any mention of the one show on a major network in Prime Time that has an out gay character, played by an out gay actor and actually shows him dating somebody of the same sex? (No Modern Family, you don’t count after turning the gay characters into neutered clowns and only deigning to have a chaste kiss after boycott threats.)

Being gay or open about it is irrelevant. Colton was in the closet for many years and still a regular on Queerty because he’s masculine, fit, young, white, and of coarse handsome. You don’t fit that = you don’t fit on Queerty.

This posting by Colton really exhibits the psychological pitfalls of social media. Being bombarded by picture-perfect over-the-top moments definitely skew people’s expectations in life to borderline unrealistic. I’ve been married to my husband for a little over 4 years… he would appreciate the sentiment of a thousand rose pedals and candles… then laugh historically at the absurdity of the gesture. I wish Colton well and hope that his relationship is filled and validated with all the small gestures and romantic nuances that make some relationships last a lifetime.
