Buck Angel Reveals Whether Women With Penises Have It Easier Than Men With Vaginas

buck-angelI am not sure I can answer that because I am not a woman with a penis. I think we deal with different experiences, for sure. If you think about it, trans women have given up ‘male privilege’ to become the woman they have always wanted to be. That has to have an effect on them somehow. For me and guys like me, we have now been given ‘male privilege.’ I get to do things I never got to do before as a gay woman. In some ways it has made my life easier, that’s for sure.”

Buck Angel, trans man who kept his vagina, became a porn star and educator and the subject of a new documentary Mr. Angel, settling an age-old question in an interview with Michael Musto for Out

Regardless of what’s between Buck’ s leg, I find him sexy as hell.He is just so accepting and comfortable with who he is.

@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: Which part is confusing..? Maybe he went through what many trans people go through, which is thinking they are a gay man or woman when in fact they are just barely discovering their identity.
Or maybe it’s the part about things he couldn’t have done as someone portraying themself as a woman? Because that’s easy, too; he means for example that now he can take his shirt off without an angry riot calling him indecent. He can be all over women at a bar and not be labelled a whore. A lot of big and small social differences like that.

Im a bit slow. I’m just trying to understand.

He says he was gay woman — not bisexual. Meaning what..into women? Was “she” not into men back then? If “she” was into men that would make her straight, right? Or — as seems to be the case — “she”” was really a gay man into men? But not a gay woman liking only women, non? Not bi??? Why didn’t he just say “queer” and save me the brainache? I not exposing this well cause I’m muddled. Help.

@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: Before transitioning Buck Angel dated women as a woman, where as after transitioning Buck Angel is a man who dates men.

But “he” has a vagina though. If I wanted to eat pu*sy I’d be with a woman — a biological woman. I just don’t get how this works!!!

@vklortho: Buck Angel is in a relationship with a woman but does have sex with men on camera.

      Nov 25, 2013 at 3:12 pm · @ReplyReply to this comment ·

@vklortho: Okay, wow. And so Buck wasn’t interested in men before transitioning? Did he stop being into woman after transitioning? Are we sure he doesn’t identify as bi?

Thank you for responding. I’m not trying to be douche with my questions, I find this fascinating and perplexing in a richly wonderful way.

@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: I know some trans people where who they were attracted to changed a fair bit during transition. Most of the time it stays the same(lesbians who were straight guys pre-transition or straight women who were gay guys pre-transition), but I went from a bi guy pre-transition to being a straight woman. Hormones are a hell of a drug.

    • DarkZephyr

@vklortho: Yeah, since transitioning, he has come to identify as bisexual, but was exclusively into women pre-transition. It seems he has broadened his tastes after transitioning, which is in line with what you said about how it changes for some trans people. :)

I love Buck Angel, he is HOT. I have only been with cismen and I have to admit that I love the penis, but that does not stop me from being very attracted to transmen as well. If I was single I would easily date a nice masculine gay Transman. I have been attracted to many a transman in the past. I remember being extremely happy when I found out that there were gay and bi transmen. In my silly ignorance of the past, I had once assumed that all transpeople were straight.

“Buck Angel is a trans man who left his vagina” is there a surgery now to get transmen penises?

Those are all valid questions and makes you wonder what is responsible for our sexual orientation? I have seen this with many trans people that is why I’m not shocked, but sometimes I think can an adjustment in hormone level change me to straight? or vice versa?

      That made me LOL

      Nov 25, 2013 at 10:13 pm · @ReplyReply to this comment ·
    • vklortho

@Rockery: There is. Trans men have the options of metoidoplasty or phalloplasty when it comes to SRS. I seriously doubt that a small adjustment to hormone levels will change sexual orientation. When it comes to the trans people who notice changes in sexual orientation, their bodies are doing a complete 180 from what they were used to before and basically going through puberty again.

    • Fitz

I think that the surgical options for phalloplasty are not very good, yet. If someone knows better, let me know.. but last I knew of it, transmen really never get to fully have a working dick. Which is sad. We should all be able to look the way we want to.

I maintain that Buck Angel is revolting and repulsive in terms of his choices. The tattoos are creepy. His porn background is despicable and self-demeaning.

I certainly don’t want a bar of Buck and his repulsive lifestyle choices.

THAT MAN WAS A WOMAN!!! O M Goddess…Now I get it…I must have been sleeping under a rock. Gosh, that is crazy…It took a while for me to wrap my head around Chicks with dicks. I have met transitioning women before but none of them looked like that… Please forgive me…But like most gays I am rather ignorant when it comes to Transgender people…I know we have free speech in America but can’t we get rid of Jim Bryant, Anita Bryant’s bastard son..? That bitch is killin my buzz.

@DerekR: Try to be gentler on jimbryant, everyone has their demons.

@Rockery: Russia routinely forces sex hormone therapy on lesbians. They usually lock up gay men in jail on trumped up charges. Families force lesbians to be institutionalized, where they are forced to take hormones in an effort to change orientation. It doesn’t work.

In general, the trans community is one we don’t understand well and have unfortunately and begrudgingly added T to GLBT.

@Degas: I believe they are a part of our…um…community… and I use the term loosely…sub-culture is a better term given the levels of separation and prejudice…and I embrace them with open arms…begrudgingly..? perhaps…unfortunately.??? NEVER

@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: As Buck used to have sex with man as well as women before he transitioned from female to male, the expression “as a gay woman” probably refers more to how he was perceived by other people than how he actually perceived himself most of the time.

When he looked female and dated women many people thought he was a lesbian. But he was actually a bisexual guy – and probably most, if not all, of the women he dated were were bisexual women.

@Fitz: The current surgical options for advanced phalloplasty for transmen are very expensive and time-consuming.

But for individuals who can find the finance and are willing to undergo five or more years of multiple surgical procedures and long periods where having sex is difficult if not impossible the end results can be pretty amazing.

@DarkZephyr: No way is Buck Angel “gay for pay”. He is bisexual and so is his wife Elayne. And they have an open relationship.

Question: As a couple are you quite conventional? Do you wear wedding rings, for example?

Buck: Oh yeah, we are a lot like your average heterosexual couple. It’s bizarre, but that is how we’re perceived. Only we’re also very kinky, very bisexual. We have an open sexual relationship and have play partners that we bring in to have sex with. But we do still have wedding rings and look like the average man and wife. Well, with tattoos.
