Director Joss Whedon has assembled a “shit ton” of celebrities in a new video asking you to vote, with the promise of a Mark Ruffalo nude scene if you do.

Whedon returned to Twitter to announce the spot, which he filmed as part of his new Super PAC Save the Day‘s initiative to get progressive voters out to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Robert Downey, Jr., Neil Patrick Harris, James Franco, Julianne Moore, Rosie Perez, Keegan-Michael Key, Don Cheadle and a host of others, including a couple regular people for the “unpolished sincerity” factor, do their best to convince the American public to cast their ballot for Hillary Clinton and other Democratic candidates.
They argue against the talking points often heard by those considering a protest vote, or those considering staying home, saying it is inaccurate to claim that both sides are equally bad, or that one vote doesn’t matter.
The Save the Day website explains: “We are a short-form production company dedicated to the idea that voting is a necessary and heroic act. That every voice in this wonderfully diverse nation should, and must, be heard. That the only thing that can save democracy is the act that defines it. We are committed to fighting the apathy, cynicism, and honest confusion that keeps citizens from using their vote. And to reminding an increasingly out-of-touch and compromised set of representatives that they are answerable to the people they were hired to serve.”

Whedon returned to Twitter in order to promote the video.
“Hey! Did I miss anything? Lol jk the world is on fire here’s a thing I made savetheday.vote” he tweeted. He followed that up with another tweet, reading, “Proof it’s really me: I already failed on my 1st tweet because tech – the link to the vid I made is THIS” with a link to the PSA on YouTube, which you can find below.

I still believe my two-year-old niece would be a better president than any of the candidates actually running…
Mo Bro
Jesus christ, if you’re going to try to lure people in, at least go with someone under 50. My father is younger than Mark Ruffalo.
jdboston617
Fun article, we need to vote more than ever. The title of the article is a little funky/confusing.
Maybe try this: Would Tons of Celebrities And A Nude Scene of Mark Ruffalo Turn Out The Vote?
Black buns
I love Mark and would love to live in his undies for at least a year. Incredible things (wink, wink, wink) come in little packages and he is all wrapped up like a Christmas present……Real talk, Mark is so beautiful and such a kind and gentle soul…..Most of our ‘straight allies’ we have to keep our ‘allies’ happy sometimes with a bit of wooing and some comforting words. Mark is always on board and always trying to woo and impress our family and I dig that so much. This man could get projects out-of-this-world but chooses topics that are a bit taboo and a bit out of his normal ‘comfort zone’ …….Remember this man doesn’t have to do anything but make big movies, take care of his family and die……..He choose to be an ally of the LGTBIQ Family (damn it’s getting longer and bigger by the minute: a grower not a shower)

I’m glad to see the proud history of the Democratic Party (slavery, KKK, anti-suffrage, Jim Crow, literacy tests, poll taxes, etc.) continues with brain dead liberals pandering potential voters “with the promise of a Mark Ruffalo nude scene”.
Sorry Hollywood, but your former magic is wearing thin with the American public. This is partially evidenced by the recent Emmy Awards – the lowest ratings in Emmy history.
QJ201
@Mo Bro: is your father as f*ckable as Mark Ruffalo?
And we’ve already seen almost every under 30 male celeb’s junk thanks to social media “leaks”
Kieran
Did they say “famous” people? So where are they?
Alistair Wiseman
@Kieran:
Maybe they were “youtube stars”. 🙂
Jack Meoff
@Black buns: Nice post. I agree with your sentiments. I wish some in our community would stop accusing our straight allies or ulterior motives or insulting their authenticity. Mark, and others, does it because they want to not because they have to.
jimontp
@Alistair Wiseman: @Alistair Wiseman: Wiseman is an oxymoron. All those “Democratic” party history things were from a hundred years ago, and are NOW CURRENTLY part of the GOP policies in every Southerrn and Midwestern state they control, just substitute “voter ID” for the poll taxes. Oh yeah, and you forgot to mention that the National GOP platform, the one Trump is running on, calls for REPEAL of gay marriage, the right to discriminate against gays because of someone’s “religious” beliefs, and a ban on all abortions. Despicably misleading comments on a gay web site are your constant refrain, and it’s disgusting and dishonest.
Jack Meoff
@Kieran: Are you serious right now?
Alistair Wiseman
@jimontp:
What I wrote is not “disgusting and dishonest”. They are called historical American facts.
If you want to equate voter id laws to Democrats imposing poll taxes which denied Blacks the right to vote, that is “disgusting and dishonest”.
The Republican party, knowing that voter id would protect voters rights, not inhibit them, wants to bring law and order and integrity to the voting process legally. The Democratic party wants groups of people to remain anonymous, in the shadows and marginalized because they’re party considers them too poor, ignorant and lazy to get a proper (often times free) identification card. Democrats are inspiring!
Providing IDs for the few who don’t have them makes a lot more sense than leaving our precious right to vote vulnerable to election fraud. To equate voter id laws to Democrats history of denying blacks the legal right to vote is “disgusting and dishonest”.
DMRX
@Alistair Wiseman: Read some history about when the “Republican” and “Democratic” parties switched ideologies.
The “Democrats” you cite call themselves Republicans now.
Look it up, youngster.
ChrisK
@Mo Bro: Mark is younger then 50 knucklehead.
ChrisK
@Alistair Wiseman: Seriously? You’re really that ignorant on history?
Alistair Wiseman
@DMRX:
Oh yes, the old swicheroo lie. Already heard this lie ad nauseum. When a party has such a vile, disgusting and r a c i s t legacy as the Democratic party what other option is there other to say they switched!?!
When did they switch? What date? Other than Strom Thurmond, name the top law makers that changed parties. After all, they switched parties, right? With 100 Senators and 435 Congressmen there should quite a list….
Alistair Wiseman
@DMRX:
As a 52 year old former Democrat, it has been awhile since someone called me a “youngster”.
Since I made a request of you, I thought I would help you out with the short video below.

Yeah, in the age of Twitter, Vine, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, everyone and their mom can be a celebrity, so the word has lost a lot of its meaning. Furthermore, people haven’t given a shit about what celebrities think for a long damn time.
Also, I’m so damn tired of this format.
Celebrity A: I’ll start the first half —
Celebrity B: The first half —
Celebrity C: The first half of this sentence.
Celebrity D: Of this sentence
Celebrity E: This sentence
Celebrity F: Poo.
ted72
@QJ201: Mark is hot and sexy!
adamnfool
@Xzamilloh:
I took some deep breaths before commenting.
The video is poking fun of the exact format you said you were tired of. The video agrees with your point. It’s the whole joke.

@Alistair Wiseman:
The parties switched ideaolgies fairly heavily around the time of the Civil Rights Act.
Signed into law by a democratic president.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_B._Johnson
The Republican Party, scared of a potential outpouring of support for the Democratic Party by African American voters (which did happen) made a decision to court the backlash from the Civil Rights Act. This has culminated recently the removal of the need for congress to approve voter ID changes in states with historic legacies of disenfranchisement.
NC legislature almost immediately removed early voting, reduced polling stations, and reduced hours of voting in urban districts that favor one party. It’s a lot more than just voter ID. NC new laws free of the Civil Rights Act have been put on hold due to a federal court ruling.
Regardless I wish you well on your journey.
Mo Bro
@Xzamilloh:
That made me lol. Literally.
jdboston617
@Alistair Wiseman: Haha. That’s called American history, not the Democratic Party, silly. And sure, our country’s history is bloodly, ugly and full of dreadful acts, laws, and policies. However, we have the ability to change our laws, and we have, and still do. Mark, and other celebrities listed here are doing their part to make a positive difference.
What are you doing? Seems like nothing… so your opinion has no merit in this instance.
Alistair Wiseman
@adamnfool:
Thank you for making my point.
You linked to the Wikipedia page for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It states, in part: “Most Democrats from the Southern states opposed the bill and led an unsuccessful 83-day filibuster, including Senators Albert Gore, Sr. (D-TN) and J. William Fulbright (D-AR), as well as Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), who personally filibustered for 14 hours straight.”
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed by a greater percentage of Republicans than Democrats. That is a fact.

@adamnfool:
My response to you was actually longer, but due to Queerty and their leftist censoring ways, it was censored and would not post.
Who are all the other politicians that changed parties? I listed one and would like to hear about all the others. So far…nothing.
Alistair Wiseman
@jdboston617:
“That’s called American history, not the Democratic Party, silly.”
Correct, it is American history, but slavery, KKK, literacy tests, poll taxes, Jim Crow, anti-suffrage are all part of the DEMOCRATIC party. These are not my “opinions”, these are American history facts.
Learn our history.
adamnfool
@Alistair Wiseman:
I also checked out the voting numbers before posting. But then I remembered my history lessons.
Namely what was also in the link…
“Kennedy’s successor as president, Lyndon Johnson, made use of his experience in legislative politics, along with the bully pulpit he wielded as president, in support of the bill. In his first address to a joint session of Congress on November 27, 1963, Johnson told the legislators, “No memorial oration or eulogy could more eloquently honor President Kennedy’s memory than the earliest possible passage of the civil rights bill for which he fought so long.”
Alistair Wiseman
@adamnfool:
What is your point?
Democrat President Lyndon Johnson referred to the Civil Rights Act of 1957 as the “n * g g e r b i l l”.
He also stated regarding his plan for the Great Society, “I’ll have those n * g g e r s voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”
Also, I still haven’t received a list of all those politicians that magically changed parties.
Alistair Wiseman
@adamnfool:
Here is an article from the left-wing MSNBC about the r a s c i s m of Democratic President Lyndon Johnson.
http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/lyndon-johnson-civil-rights-racism
adamnfool
And here’s an article of my own. It goes into this exact debate.
http://factmyth.com/factoids/democrats-and-republicans-switched-platforms/
But importantly most of these people are gone. We pick up their labels, successes, and faults as our own. If you really believe that African Americans are better off voting for the Republican Party today, then you would be doing good by going out there and telling them that in person. Telling queerty won’t do anything or solve anything to make you less angry at your leftist enemies. Again I wish you luck in your endeavors at making the world a better place. Sometimes peace starts at home.
Alistair Wiseman
@adamnfool:
Still waiting on that list….
Words and opinions are cheap, I provided in the video above the factual information regarding the candidates, their party affilation, voting history and when that politicians district actually changed political affilation.
Still waiting on that list….
jdboston617
@Alistair Wiseman: LMAO!!!! You are so damn stupid and obviously mentally unsound. Thank you for the laughter.
I could pick on the scab of your backward brain all day, but it’s like shooting fish in a bucket. Too easy… Enjoy your meds, dear.
Alistair Wiseman
@jdboston617:
I’m pleased I could provide some levity to your day.
You stated, “I could pick on the scab on your backward brain all day, but it’s like shooting fish in a bucket. Too easy…”
Shoot away! I noticed you couldn’t articulate a response to me on another thread as well. Just laughter and name calling. Try and pick the scab on my “backward brain”. Remember, it’s “too easy”.
Mo Bro
@Alistair Wiseman:
Again: touché, my good man.
You absolutely live up to your surname.
I can always count on you for an entertainingly first-class retort.

@Alistair Wiseman:
Please read my last link if you would it’s about 50 pages of explanation on parties switching ideaologies. . Platforms change, politicians don’t switch.
I don’t think we are going to be agreeing though. Have a good day.
