Canadian Cannibal Killer Luca Magnotta Collapses In Court

luka-magnotta-official11Luka Rocco Magnotta, the Canadian man accused of killing, dismembering and eating his male lover, fainted in court on Tuesday.

During a pre-trial hearing in Montreal, Magnotta collapsed to the floor of the courtroom, after which the judge suspended the hearing for the rest of the day. “He really doesn’t feel well and he’s not able to continue,” Magnotta’s lawyer told the judge.

It’s odd that the stress of a trial  would overwhelm someone who could handle murdering and mutilating their boyfriend, making a video of themselves playing with the corpse, and mailing out body parts to various political offices. But that’s just us.

Magnotta, who has appeared in several gay porn films, was arrested in Germany last June after an international manhunt. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include first-degree murder in the death of lover Jun Lin, 33, as well as defiling a corpse, threatening the Canadian prime minister and using the mail system for delivering “obscene, indecent, immoral or scurrilous” materials.

He has pleaded not guilty.

Was it something he eatthat didn’t agree with him?

    *ate that…

  • Mofdgheb

Who are the two guys in the picture?

  • Cam

The news keeps saying that this guy was in porn, but from some other articles it seems like he would go online under different names and make up stuff about himself and pretend it was a report.

As for his fainting in court. This is a guy that was googling articles about himself and was doing anything he could to be reported on. Sounds like some move to get his name in the papers.

  • oilburner

He’s hot i.wouldn’t mind having sex with him. As long as he doesn’t murder or try to eat me i can overlook his cannabilism of his formerly alive ex lover.

  • Bob LaBlah

I just googled this guy and don’t know who I feel sorrier for: him or the victim. I feel sorry for him because he IS NOT an attractive guy at all and strikes me as a one hit wonder of the gay porn world. As a matter of fact, the Andrew Cunaanan factor is what really came to mind. A young twink who knows he is loosing his looks and sugar daddies are no longer lining up to take care of him.
His victim was asian. A lonely “appearing” looking asian man whom I have no doubt was beginning to tire of this little perverted leach. Jun’s only mistake was caring for and showing him love, which he seems unable to return. My sympathy to Jun’s family. I paid strict attention to the articles I read on google and not one mentioned any family member showing up in support for this maniac. I just wonder how many MORE are occurring that we have yet to hear about.

Poor bastards, every one of them

  • Mofdgheb

He showed up at auditions for a talent show in Canada. The audition tape was online last year.

Clearly Luka has some serious psychological issues, which pretty much sums it up.

As for oilburner’s comment (Mar 20, 2013 at 12:44 pm), I agree with him as far as the defendant being attractive, at least in the above photo – familiar looking, too. I also got a kick out of oilburner’s somewhat twisted humor.

Finally, as for the article itself, whoever wrote it comes across as a little lame when it comes to basic, common sense grammar. He (or possibly, she) wrote, “who could handle murdering and mutilating THEIR boyfriend, making a video of THEMSELVES playing with the corpse.”

What’s with this pluralization nonsense? The article’s about one male, right? … singular, and the gender is obvious! Should’ve been, “who could handle murdering and mutilating HIS boyfriend, making a video of HIMSELF playing with the corpse.” Geeesh!

  • Spike

Probably happens every time he eats Asian food.

  • MikeE

@trabster: Funny you should mention the grammar.. because the article has it absolutely correct. You, however, err in declaring it an error.

“Their” is the acceptable neutral form of “his or her”, and “themselves” is the acceptable neutral form of “himself or herself”.

It isn’t “pluralization nonsense”. The question is “who could”, and does not relate to the person in the article. Learn to read. It is asking “who at large”, which is gender neutral, and therefore correctly written as “themselves” and “their”.

Maybe it’s time you brushed up on some of that basic common sense grammar?

  • Captain proton

he was probably over stressed from lack of media attention

  • trabster

    @MikeE: HORSE SHIT!

  • MikeE

@trabster: you may think it is, but so far, the only crap coming out of anywhere is coming from you.

I suggest you go see a grammar school teacher and ask.

  • luckynumbersee

i didn’t realize he had been convicted already.

  • mlbumiller

@MikeE: did you read the Wikipedia entry? Should have read “himself”. Just because something is in common usage, does not make it correct. In this case, we know the the gender.

  • Mikey

There’s something wrong with you people. This is an evil, sick man. What he did was horrific. He videotaped the whole thing and put it online before he was caught. He raped the poor victim’s corpse throughout the video. He stabbed him over and over. He decapitated him, and cut off his limbs (and masturbated with them). He recorded a dog eating one of the victim’s stumps. He took a fork and a knife and carved the victim’s butt like it was turkey and ate it. Some of the last moments of the video are pictures he took of the victim’s body parts, including the head, in a freezer. This isn’t the kind of thing you joke about. Talking about how attractive he is? Feeling sorry for him? Joking about the victim being Asian? Not cool. Definitely not funny.

    @Mikey: I wholeheartedly agree.
