Actress Carrie Fisher is in critical condition after suffering a “cardiac episode,” The Los Angeles Times reports.
According to officials, the 60-year-old actress was on a flight from London to Los Angeles when the incident took place. She was quickly rushed to a hospital just after noon, once the 11-flight landed at LAX.
The actress was “in a lot of distress on the flight,” said a source close to the situation.

May the Force be with you Ms. Fisher. We are hoping for a full recovery. 2016 doesn’t need to become any worse.

It is almost “criminal” that performers like John Ritter, Alan Thicke, Carrie Fisher … can have sudden “cardiac episodes” when they work in a business that requires they be insured to work. How are these people passing examines to obtain insurance when they have medical conditions that should show up in sophisticated?
Maybe if medical examines by actors for insurance were taken more seriously, fewer of them would be having unexpected cardiac episodes.
The actor Robby Benson was born with a heart defect and he gave an interview on how he tried to keep it a secret in order to work, going so far as scheduling a heart operation under another name. Benson auditioned with Harrison Ford for the Luke Skywalker role.

It may have been a plane-induced clot, a four letter word.

@1EqualityUSA: That is quite possible, especially if she had been traveling by air a lot.
I hope she has a full recovery!

@MarionPaige: Some things just get misdiagnosed just anyone else. Most don’t have a clue till it’s too late.

“Most don’t have a clue till it’s too late.”
ChrisK, that line almost entirely sums up the human condition. We spend almost our entire lives getting a clue, and then its over.

@ChrisK:
That’s some misdiagnosis if you don’t mind me saying. Anyway, I hope she gets better. This has been a lousy year. Ah well.
