A Catholic bishop is using his Christmas sermon to compare equal-marriage efforts in Britain to Nazi campaigns to undermine religion.
David Cameron’s fast-tracking of marriage equality has put anti-gay forces on the defensive, but Rev. Mark Davies, the Bishop of Shrewsbury, has reached a new low by leaking the text of his midnight Mass sermon, in which he’ll bash same-sex marriage proponents as commies and brown shirts.
Davies also plans to attack the UK government’s “discarding of human life” with policies toward abortion and the elderly, but it’s efforts on behalf of same-sex marriage that he says threatens to “shape and distort the whole future of humanity.”
We think of the ideologies of the past century, Communism and Nazism, which in living memory threatened to shape and distort the whole future of humanity.
These inhuman ideologies would each challenge in the name of progress the received Christian understanding of the sanctity of human life and the family. Winston Churchill, Britain’s wartime Prime Minister, a man without clear, religious belief, saw in this deadly struggle nothing less than the defence of Christian civilisation…
Few of our political leaders today appear to glimpse the deeper issues when the sanctity of human life and the very identity of marriage, the foundation of the family, are threatened.”
Gee, a shadowy regime that demands absolute conformity, demonizes outsiders and has a history of abuse and corruption? What is, “the Catholic Church,” Alec?
How about we take this to the next level?

The catholic church would be the experts on all things Nazi, given the current pope IS one. Smuggling thousands of Nazi war criminals out of Italy and Austria after the war, condoning and collaborating with the genocide of jews and homosexuals.
This is just the things that there are mountains of absolute proof for
Let alone the use of their buildings for mass shootings, many with mass graves in southern Germany.
The catholic church fortunately wields no actual power here in the UK, we have enough problems with the church of England but at least they don’t have the financial clout the catholic church does, or the rampant all encompassing child fucking problems.

We won’t even mention Irish catholic collaborators, of which my grandad was murdered by in the war.

The bishop should clean up his own house before judging others. A parish priest of the diocese he leads, Fr Phil McGovern was exposed in the sun for trawling the internet for gay lovers under the username ‘Happi Fella’. Recently another of his parish priests Fr Peter Hooper was jailed for five years for performing a sex act on a teenage boy. Then there is the ongoing investigation into historic sexual abuse at the bishop’s St Ambrose RC College in Hale Barns. The bishop utters hate filled words when it seems his own clergy can’t live up to their vocations. Typical of the hypocricy of the catholic church.

The Catholic church never denounced the Holocaust while it was happening. Their position was at best ambiguous.
Hitler was never excommunicated. He was a Catholic in good standing until he committed suicide, which the church counts as a worse sin than gassing Jews.
Their supposed motive? Communism would have been worse.

The british Prelate conveniently forgets the sins of colonialsim, slavery, and conquest and plunder of the Americas in his wonderful white view of the Past with a so called Christian Civilization…..which was anything but christian…
