Despite middling scores, performance-related injuries and the voodoo prayers of Focus on the Family, trans activist Chaz Bono secured his spot on Dancing with the Stars for another go, with a booty-shaking samba Monday night that endeared him to the audience.
On Tuesday night’s results show, which included performances by Kelly Clarkson and The Band Perry, America found out ex-Queer Eye Carson Kressley and his pro partner Anna Trebunskaya received 19 out of 30 from the judges and were banished to no-dance-land. (You know, that town in Texas where Footloose takes place.)
Chaz has had some serious moral support of late: Not only was mom Cher in the audience on the October 10 episode, but so was stepmother Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-CA), as well as Chaz’s aunt and uncle, and his half-brother, Elijah Blue Allman.
Cher, really the only celebrity anyone needs to follow on Twitter, posted this about Chaz making it another week on the show:
“SAFE ! SAFE ! SAFE ! SAFE ! SAFE! YEAH ! YEAH ! YEAH ! YEAH ! YEAH !”
Put a dance beat behind it and we’re pretty sure you could get a room full of gay men to dance to it.

Why do people watch this embarrassing train wreck of a TV show? Just a matter of time before Reichen shows up as a contestant.

@Spike: B/c it’s entertaining + they have a sense of fun.
Anywho, Carson was the LGBT contestant that I actually wanted to watch.
