A star is born

Chris Pine says his full-frontal attention is “pretty cool”

Chris Pine is showing wood. The actor’s full-frontal scene in the upcoming film Outlaw King already has tongues wagging, with one critic raving about the glimpses of “his royal todger” and the “full majesty of his medieval bush.”

Other reviewers who watched the film at the Toronto International Film Festival were equally abuzz. “Had a great time seeing colleagues tonight here at one of the year’s biggest cultural events and discussing Chris Pine’s penis,” said Vanity Fair’s Richard Lawson.

“Chris Pine rearranged is Rich Penis,” observed Decider’s Alex Zalben. “The signs were there all along.”

For his part, Pine tells ET it’s “pretty cool” that his, ahem, lumber is the breakout star of the film fest.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, though, the 38-year-old struck a more bemused tone, saying he’s surprised the nudity has gotten more press than the bloodshed of this 14th-century war tale.

“What I find very funny is that there’s so much beheading in this, and yet people want to talk about my penis,” Pine told the site. “And I think that says something about our society, where people can get disemboweled, but it’s the man’s junk that is of interest.”

The Star Trek alum also bemoaned that his nude scene was shot on a cold day. “I’d choose some sort of hot tub in Bali, and less men probably.” (Well, we certainly can’t agree with him on the second part.)
