If you’re on the hunt for a bit of inchoate rage to kick off your weekend, look no further. The following Vine captures the nauseating moment a Christian protestor heckles a man for grieving over his dead husband.

As Gay Star News reports, the incident took place in Alabama. While Chief Justice Roy Moore spoke to a ravenous crowd about being suspended for defying the Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage ruling, an alternate press conference (held by the Human Rights Campaign) took place a few hundred feet away.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Speaking amid a crowd proudly brandishing signs that read “Homosexuality Destroys Families,” Dr. Paul Hard related his ongoing legal battle for his husband, who died five years ago, to be legally recognized as such.
The moment he starts discussing his partner’s death, a man in the crowd bursts into guffaws, crowing, “You can’t have a husband.”

John Archibald, a columnist for AL who attended the conference, wrote the following editorial about the incident:
How can any man, no matter his position on Roy Moore or any issue, stand before another and mock his pain? How can one stand under the banner of God and laugh at another man’s death? How — in the name of God — can one deride genuine grief? Christians cannot let these people define their religion. All they have is volume. As a substitute for moral authority.”

Mack
The man who “heckled” the guy who lost his husband isn’t a Christian. He’s a hater. And since they’re in Alabama that explains the heckler’s stupidity.
Stache
@Mack: Forget Christian or even anything resembling a human. Anyone that derides pleasure in mocking someone like this is a Sociopath.
ClarkKent
@Stache: Yeah, the man is so blinded by the Us vs Them battle raging in his head that human beings look like chess pieces. I guess I’m still hoping he’s blind, and not as you suggest, willfully malicious.

Oh look, another child molester.

Shocking… the word “Christian” plastered all over this one… I’m kinda over Christian fundamentalists, because we are witnessing them lose their power over the political structure of America, and they’re not killing anyone. As horrible as it was to see someone laughing at the pain of another human being, at least he wasn’t murdered for publicly proclaiming he had a husband.
But Stache is right… that goes beyond religion and just demonstrates a person lacking any kind of empathy.

Alabama is 45th when it comes to education so you can expect many of its citizens to be asinine lowlifes.

Why is this white Christian so full of hate against LGBTQ people? Why are they actively fighting to deny our rights all over the South and other parts of the country?

” Why is this white Christian so full of hate against LGBTQ people? Why are they actively fighting to deny our rights all over the South and other parts of the country? ”
Great questions. One answer is that Christianity is simply a mixed-bag of love and hate and it’s this article’s example of hate that made the headlines.

@Kangol: Because they’re ignorant and inbred.
