Breakups

Comedian Ross Mathews has split from Salvador Camarena, his partner of 10 years

Ross Mathews, the former intern at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno who has since become a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, recently announced his breakup with Salvador Camarena, his boyfriend of 10 years.

On Instagram, Mathews wrote, “After nearly ten years together, Salvador and I have decided that the time has come to part ways. This split is amicable and filled with kindness, compassion and a genuine love for one another. As we go forward, each of us feels as if he has a cheerleader in our corner — a family member for life. We are happy. Thank you all for your well wishes and love.”

On his own Twitter, Camarena — a self-described “stylist, taco lover, design nerd and daddy to three rescue pups” — wrote, “I’m so grateful with the time I’ve spent with [Ross] he’s a wonderful human being!”

Instinct reports that Mathews’ public mentions of Camarena had decreased in recent months. Their most recent photo together on Mathews’ Instagram was from September 16 when they attended the GLAAD Awards in San Francisco.

However, Camarena’s Instagram had some clues about their impending split as well.

His November 9 Instagram post showing himself alone in an apartment announced, “New rules.” Another post on his Instagram Stories mentioned himself working on his “revenge body,” a term for a nice physique intended to inspire jealousy in an ex-partner.

While breakups are always sad, it’s at least nice that the two men have parted amicably. So let’s mourn their breakup and celebrate their new lives apart with some shots of them together.
