Conchita Wurst to Voice Character in Dreamwork's 'Penguins of Madagascar'

Conchita Wurst Eva Snow Owl Voice Penguins of Madagascar Animated Film

Conchita Wurst will be providing a German voice over for the upcoming Dreamworks film ‘Penguins of Madagascar‘ as the character of Eva, a snow owl that works as an analyst in the Nordwind Intelligence Organization (and looks a lot like a drag queen).

Conchita announced on Facebook that she will be providing Eva’s German voice using a Russian accent, which is extremely ironic given that Russia launched their own ‘gay free’ song contest and the Russia Othodox Church has condemned Conchita and in protest of her Eurovision win earlier this year.

Although Conchita’s voice won’t appear on the English version of the film, her voice will be heard in the German-dubbed version across Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In the English version, Eva will be voiced by Annet Mahendru who is best known for her starring role in the 2013 TV series The Americans, where she plays the role ‘Nina.’

The film will hit theaters on Nov. 26 in the United States, Nov. 27 in Germany and Switzerland and Nov. 28 in Austria. Watch the English and German previews below.
