This is one selfish and self-centered Mayor I’ve ever known. He leaves San Francisco with a $522M deficit to embark on his next political move. At one point, he goes on The Rachel Maddow Show and brags about his “Healthy San Francisco” program which equates to something like a universal health care program here, while at the same time he strips and decimates the Department of Public Health. He then announces that he’s laying off 15K city and county employees but exempts the Police and Fire Department.
This glamour Mayor is all about what is going to make him look good. All I can say, “lay off the bottle and coke and just maybe would not resort to laying off 15K city employees coz you’re so doped up!”
When I get to vote for the next CA governor, I choose not to throw my vote on this a*shat.

In case you haven’t noticed, deficits are the status quo right now and since you think Newsom is so bad then why would you want him to stay?
A version of universal health care remains available in SF regardless of any changes in the Health Department…which were…wait for it…necessary to help REDUCE that deficit. Yes, Mary, even in your Hello Kitty world one can’t have everything.
15K employees were NOT laid off in the way people outside of CA are going to understand your hallucination [and YOU’RE accusing him of being “doped up”?].
The actual idea is a bold way of AGAIN trying to expeditiously reduce the deficit by reducing the number of hours thousands of city employees work by 2.5 hours per week through a mechanism of laying them off then immediately REHIRING them under the new hours per week agreement.
Hating Newsom is a second 365-24-7 career for some people.
You have a right to your personal opinion of anyone but you don’t have the right to distort the facts.

Gavin Newsom is/was a terrible mayor. He has a drug and alcohol problem so bad that his SFPD driver quit because he was afraid that MCD would open up an investigation on the Officer for being part and parcel to Newsoms drug problem. Of course SFPD and SFFD were spared, they have the strongest unions who pay to play scumbags like Newsome. He really should be in jail, or just come out of the closet and admit that he is at least a Bi-Sexual. What a waste of hair gel. I feel bad for his kid really, hopefully the grand parents will protect the child from his madness.
