Awwwww yay congratulations to Maulik Pancholy (Jonathan on 30 Rock)! He just tweeted out a happy photo from the Taj Mahal, where he just got engaged to boyfriend Ryan Corvaia. They’ve been together just over nine years, so IT IS ABOUT TIME, kids.
While Pancholy’s probably best known for being Jack Donaghy’s unsettling assistant or Sanjay on Weeds, he’s one of those hard-working actors who seems to pop up in the unlikeliest of shows. He’s done Phineas and Ferb, a Scooby Doo special, Law and Order of course, Tracey Takes On (oh man, remember that show?), and even Felicity.
Ryan, on the other hand, is best known for starting Dish Food and Events, a catering & hospitality company in New York. So if you get an invite to the happy couple’s wedding, get ready to eat very, very well.
Getting engaged at the Taj Majal is an extra-delightful act of love: the Indian government is grappling with homophobic laws right now, and the past Pancholy’s been active in protesting the country’s ban on homosexuality.
