Variety just released its list of the highest-paid TV stars of 2016, and a certain Judge Judith Sheindlin is at the very top of it.

In fact, she earns an estimated $47 million a year for Judge Judy. Now in its 21st season, the show reportedly brings in around $160 to $170 million a year in revenue. It’s currently the most-watched national program in daytime TV, drawing in roughly 10.3 million viewers every week.

Isn’t this the kind of America we want for the twenty-first century? A country where this wealthy and powerful queen/judge can scream abuse at and treat the dumbed down peasants with derision, contempt and scorn. And the American boob tube audience finds pleasure and entertainment watching it.

I understand how she can tolerate those idiots making $47-million a year. I see those people daily and interact with them, it makes you wonder how this country survives (I am hoping there is a even amount of competent people out there). I would rather have Judge Judy for POTUS than Trump!!

@Heywood Jablowme: I hate to bust your bubble, but this is a gay interest website. Not just the narrow and restrictive gay website. Many of us are more than gay and like to read about people who are not gay, things that are gay specific or just associated with being gay. I am a gay male that loves Judge Judy, so this article was of interest to me specifically. The fact that I am helping her make bank is of interest and surprising to me. Get over the fact that many of us are gay and our window of interest goes beyond being gay.

She earns every penny. She doesn’t put up with stupidity. She treats people with respect, who deserve respect. This isn’t a real courtroom. People are paid to be on the show and the judgements are paid by the show. It’s entertainment. When she talked about gay rights on Jimmy Kimmel, she said, “sometimes a generation has just got to die out.” True words.
She officiated one of the first gay weddings. She’s a gay icon.

What I like about Judge Judy is that she’s not afraid to criticize her own gender. She has frequently criticized women who make poor choices in life.
