Noted soccer star, underwear model and endowed statue subject Cristiano Ronaldo has fueled more than a few homoerotic fantasies, but the Portuguese demigod remains tight-lipped regarding which team it is he’s really playing for.
Claims were recently made by a French journalist that Ronaldo was flying to Morocco four times a week for “cuddles” with kickboxer Badr Hari.
While we certainly don’t mean to insinuate that two straight guys can’t enjoy a cuddle every now and then, it was just the latest rumor about Ronaldo to reach international headlines.

I think Ronaldo should come out because he is such a good player that it’s not likely to hurt him very much except with some endorsements but even those might be made up by more enlightened corporations. But I don’t think anybody should out him. I would feel differently if he were like a lot of politicians who are gay at night and enact laws to discriminate by day but Ronaldo’s never said anything bad about gay people to my knowledge.

And why should he come out even if he is attracted to men? It’s his choice, not anybody else’s.
If he’s attracted to women, which he obviously is, he’s entitled to be attracted to women. If he finds men attractive – which many straight-identify men do – then he’s entitled to that as well. He shouldn’t have to declare anything regarding his sexuality to satisfy the homophobic speculation.
Homophobic speculation also exists in the gay male community. It’s very disappointing.
