Yesterday, the bisexual Sex and the City actress shared a video on Twitter announcing her candidacy for governor of New York:

Nixon will challenge incumbent Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the state’s Democratic primary in September.

It should be an interesting race, especially given Cynthia Nixon’s more progressive platform, the scandal always oozing around Andrew Cuomo, and the fact that voters might be energized in this election because of disgust with Trump and New York State’s inaction on the subway, the city’s housing crisis, re-zoning and gentrification, the public housing disasters, and so much more.

As qualified as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson, Clint Eastwood, Helen Gahagan, and Al Franken. More qualified than Cuomo, since she’s not sitting in a stew of corruption, scandal, and impotence. More qualified than trump, since she knows some things.

As an ex-Ny’er I always felt the majority of them up there overestimate their importance but after that disaster named Donald Trump one would stand up in a heartbeat and tell these made for television personalities to sit down, and sit down quick. What experience does this woman bring to the table regarding how to deal with a legislature with every member looking out for no one but themselves? Is she mad? How can anyone be that restless that they simply assume they right for the job of governor? Keep in mind, my dear, were Trump a real CEO he would have been fired by now.

It’s almost predictable how quickly someone (usually a man) will criticize a woman’s appearance and suggest that she cannot accomplish her goals, which have nothing to do with appearance, because of the way she looks.

One thing I’e found FACINATING.
There is a Manhattan DA named Cy Vance, who dropped a case against Harvey Weinstein after receiving a donation from the Weinstein company. When questions popped up after the #MeToo movement came up, Vance tried to blame the police claiming they hadn’t done the investigation write, but the police stated the investigation was not only tight, but they had Weinstein on tape admitting the assault and yet Vance still blocked the case.
Andrew Cuomo, never once did anything. SUDDENLY now that he has a progressive opponent he is demanding answers about why the case against Wenstein’s case was dropped. NOTHING wakes up laze politicians like the threat of losing their safe job.
As a sidenote: this same Manhattan DA dropped a fraud case against Ivanka and Donals Trump Jr. after receiving a donation from the Trump lawyers.
So this investigation should prove very interesting.

Personally tired of celebrities running for office. You should show you really want the job by starting with lesser roles that aren’t glamorous first. Real politicians that aren’t handed the job by rich parents work their way up from the bottom.
All these unqualified celebs just use star power and name recognition with no idea what the jobs even entail. It’s probably worse than having the morally corrupt in office. At least they understand there’s a balance to their bs.

Actually a lot of elected officials jump into higher office. Typically the children or spouses of other officials.
Duncon Hunter is one example, and another is…..oh wait! Andrew Cuomo, is the sun of a FORMER governor of New York.
So he lives in a MAJOR glass house.

She won’t win precisely because she has not done the ground work in a formal role or even just getting out there. Her only role is to try to make Cuomo shift a bit on certain policies.

Well I just adore her but she’s gonna have the same problem in her state that candidates have in my home state of Louisiana. She’s going to be considered the ” NYC candidate ” and not someone who could ever be in touch with upper New York or the rest of the state. Much the same as when someone in my state is from New Orleans and runs and we in the northern part of the state worry whether he or she will recognize and represent us. She’s got to prove she’s in it for the entire state and not just NYC.
