“Finally, I will say that, also representative of most every other gay man and woman in the world, that I am not defined by my sexuality. No more so than each of you are defined by your sexual orientation.” – Homosexual entertainer Clay Aiken setting the record straight in a long-winded blog post. [MG]

It’s funny that he goes on + on about how he doesn’t allow his sexual orientation to define him then he’s identified as “homosexual entertainer Clay Aiken” in this article.

I can only hope your “finally” also means this is the last post we have to suffer re. this man.

Oh my god when will this nitwit go away already?

Way to encourage closeted entertainers to come out, replies 2 and 3. He just can’t win, can he?

Sexuality doesn’t EXCLUSIVELY define who you are, but it has a significant stake in your psyche. I’m not just talking about gender preferences, but all aspects of sexual identity and activity, like how you kiss/liked to be kissed, etc.
Minnie
he’s speaking “on behalf” of gay people? Did we tell him to do that? Did I miss the vote?

His sexual orientation has nothing to do with the fact that he’s an idiot. There are straight idiots as well.
MEN-SAR
HE IS SOOOOOO UGLY!
then again, he’s a typical physical representation of a gay man – weak, girly and a butterface
scott
@men-sar-
ugh! Rock Hudson. Not weak, girly, nor a butterface.

So you’re entirely defined by your sexuality, Minnie? I’m not, nor are my friends – gay, straight, or somewhere in the middle. It’s an integral part of us, but not our entire definition. And you have to remember, he was talking to his fanclub here, to the clueless ones who are still shocked that he’s gay, and are still coming to terms with it, and who were expecting him to offer an apology for misleading them and probably to proclaim his celibacy as well. Many of them (the clueless ones, that is) don’t know any out gay people personally, and rely on stereotypes and what their homophobic pastor tells them in church. If Clay coming out and speaking directly to them in words they can understand makes even one of them rethink things, then he deserves a lot of credit for not just coming out but the way he has done it.
As to self loathing morons like men-sar, how the hell can we hope to have straight people take us seriously when we attack ourselves for the way we look?
