It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Desperate Housewives‘ higher-powers has cast the sudster’s gay couple!
Desperate Housewives has tapped One Life to Live‘s Tuc Watkins and ex-Judging Amy actor Kevin Rahm to play Wisteria Lane’s first gay couple. Watkins will play Bob, described as a country mouse who leaves the big city for greener (and quieter) pastures. Rahm is his bitchy partner, Lee.
A bitchy queen in prime time? Awesome! We can’t wait to hear what GLAAD has to say about golden, gay-televising child ABC now.
TV Guide‘s Michael Ausiello also offers a bit of trivia: “…The characters’ names are a tribute to ABC News’ Bob Woodruff and his wife Lee, whom series creator Marc Cherry befriended last spring.” Let’s hope there’s no IED plot line…

Now if Tuc Watkins would only come out.
I was at Barracuda on gay pride day late in the afternoon 3 years ago. Tuc wandered in with Michael McDonald…

Uh, I think you meant IED. Improvised Explosive Device. Though an IUD (IntraUterine Device) plot line might be interesting, too, especially if one of the gays is getting one installed.

Tuc’s got a history of gay roles, from the Mummy to Beggars & Choosers.
They make a cute if plastic couple. Of course, the same could be said for the entire show…

Kevin Rahm is kinda nerdy looking. Oh, I just googled him. He’s Mormon. That explains everything.

Rahm’s already got two or three gay roles on his resume, too. Sorry to hear he’s a Mormon–one of the most notoriously and explicitly anti-gay Churches around–I was just going to speculate whether he was really gay as well…

though, if you listen to the Feast of Fools podcast, apparently the church is relaxing it’s anti-homo stance.
Martini-boy
the Feast of Fools is hardly a reliable source for news and information, Nilla.

If the podcast is referring to the position paper just released by the church, it is little to no improvement whatsoever: They admit that being gay is probably not a conscious choice, but the rest is typical love-the-sin-hate-the-sinner tripe, and still considered morally wrong and incompatible with church membership.

Um, I meant hate-the-sin-love-the-sinner. LOL!

Tuc Watkins is so funny and hot and great on OLTL, where he has been on it forever…..Gay playing a str8 stud….
Tuc was in a movie with Alexis Arquette in 1997 and they play lovers…Tuc played a soap star in it and Alexis was his bf who was the soap’s writer.
Tuc has great comedic timing and is a pretty good actor. He will liven up Desperate Housewives. I assuemd he was OUT…well, maybe this will help him come out.
Best of luck to him but i will miss him on OLTL..he always livens up every scene he is in there.

Wait a sec . . . I seem to recall that when Tuc was doing Beggers and Choosers that he publicly acknowledged being gay. But the show wasn’t high enough profile for it to register (way back then), and he sort of disappeared for a while when it went away. Then, I guess when he resurfaced on One Life to Live, his sexuality became an open secret again.
BTW, I also seem to recall that Tuc played a gay man trying to adopt on an episode of Judging Amy.

I am so shocked to find out that Tuc Watkins is gay! He is so sexy and breath taking. I have watched him on One Life to Live for years.
