Ninteen-year-old lesbian couple Harley Rose Gifford and Britney Singleton allegedly burglarized over 29 homes around Philadelphia by entering their unlocked first story windows, stealing “iPods, jewelry, toys, electronics, sneakers, makeup, purses, toiletries, household items, and about $23,000 in cash – not including Euros, Pesos, Lire and other foreign currency,” and then walking home or traveling via public transportation. The women also say they entered the residence of someone owning a lion, but they chose not to steal the creature (probably because of the Philly Metro “No Lions” rule).
Curiously, the cops picked them up on unrelated charges.

“Burglarize” is not a word, or at least not an English one. “Burgled” is just fine.
It’s like when the folks at the airport say “deplane” or the rednecks on Nascar say “winningest.” It makes me want to smash things.
