In a groundbreaking move for a Disney Channel, the series Good Luck Charlie will welcome a same-sex family in its next season due early 2014.
TV Guide revealed that in an upcoming episode, Bob and Amy Duncan will set up a playmate for their preschooler Charlie and one of her new friends. When the kid arrives, the family learns that Charlie’s friend has two moms, which is “fine” — so presumable the two sets of parents hit it off well.
This follows Disney testing the equality waters last year with it’s “Make Your Mark” campaign, which featured a segment on a teen with two moms.
And the countdown to the “One Million Moms” boycott begins…NOW.
How about we take this to the next level?

I don’t have cable, but something tells me that there is little missed. Most of these “T.V. sisters” are not realistic—Dolls, asexual puffs, long hair and nails, men’s fantasies seem to be the driving force behind these shows. Is it that it has to be acceptable to the masses? The closest actor to reality was Chloe Sevigny a few years ago. Believable. They should get input from our community. Alison Bechdel should be a paid consultant and sign-off on the scripts. And, no, they can’t be psychotic, raped, murdered, or suicidal. Well-balanced, talented, handsome dykes would be so right. Is that asking too much of Disney?
