Do Gay Weddings Cost More? No, Gays Just Spend More

Potential national Republican leaders might not want the gays to get married, but if they were true fiscal conservatives they would look to Argentina and see the potential of legalizing things: “Gay couples often far outspend their heterosexual counterparts. The wedding industry in Argentina estimates that gay couples spend up to 30% more on their big day, with budgets stretching to $25,000 (£16,000). The average cost of weddings among middle and upper classes is about $12,500.”

I really don’t get people spending so much on weddings. I knew of one woman who had to walk back and forth to work because she didn’t have a car to drive. This same woman spent $2500 on her wedding gown. Seriously!

I know its a big day, and hopefully you only do it once, but when you stop making practical budget decisions because you need to blow money on a huge party, then something is terribly wrong with you.
