Lady Gaga, the pop singer addicted to her own mirror reflection, is continuing her YouTube battle against Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which is mostly an attack on Sen. John McCain, which is too bad because his daughter Meghan really likes going to Lady’s concerts.
The Gags, now headed to Maine to try to get Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins on board with a DADT repeal, also collected into a vignette the response of her little monsters, a pleasant way of describing her cult. If only Sen. McCain had something to describe his youth following, he could launch a counter attack. But sorry, John: No matter how fitting the title, “little monsters” is taken.

It’s better than nothing. If she gets young Mainers to contact their senators, then that’s great.
Gary B.
I appreciate any push for equal rights, but equal rights to learn how to kill or put yourself in the line of fire to be killed seems an odd place to fight for them. I don’t approve of gays in the military, or women in the military, or men or straight people either, BUT if there has to be one, I guess even LGBT people should be able to serve if they really want to.
Her heart is in the right place, but I’d rather the energy be placed towards gay marriages.
CHIP1218
I saw her concert in Charlotte. She spent 5 minutes or so talking about DADT repeal, she gave out the number to call your senator, told everyone to focus on friends and family in Maine (which is correct, we need the 2 Republican Senators from Maine to prevent the filibuster), and she donated $25,000 to a local charity for lgbt homeless youth. This woman is more our cause’s supporter than our own President. She is doing the best she can to help get this repealed before the elections, and we should be thankful that she’s taking the time and effort to do so – how many celebrities would rather be making more money or spending their downtime vacationing somewhere extravagant?
Rhain
Honestly Queerty. Stop hating on her for trying to do some good for the homosexual community. Would you prefer that she said nothing? At least she’s using her fame for something moral.
The Artist
@CHIP1218: I cannot believe that people sincerely believe that Mr. Obama has NOT done anything for the GLBT community. As usual, as Americans we need a quick fix, things take time. Gaga is taking this in the right direction and good for her using a very public voice to help CHANGE. Instead of lashing out at Obama or Gaga direct the energy to people like McCain. So when you start thinking how President Obama has failed you, especially after his very long stint in office, think about how perfect our lives would be under a McCain administration. And continue listening to fine outstanding citizens like his daughter. PEACELUVNBWILD!
artenyc
stop being such an A-Hole. at least she is doing something .. on like everyone else in the so call liberal hollywood.

So now we’ve turned to despising the people who try to help us? And since when is it okay for people of the gay community to adopt a “fat chance” attitude? Aren’t we the same people who fight for putting aside personal differences to fight for equality? I say go for it GaGa! There are people who still love you!
It really pains me to see this kind of article.
Joseph
That’s because Queerty is run by bitter fucking queens who have nothing better to do than bash our allies and jerk off to Davey Wavey videos.
Does no 1 get Politikz? (John from England)
@artenyc:
Oh jeez, it’s not that black and white.
Gaga (bless her socks!) is doing what she can by what she can do that works within her talent. Now would she be crazy enough to write a thesis in some academic post about the history movements in the USA?
Nope.
Opportunist? Hell yes but so what if it’s doing good?
Same thing with David Geffen. Now Geffen consistently gives on the quiet to a million gay causes-never less then 100K, where is his love? Now would it be smart for Geffen to call upon his ‘little monsters’??
Nope.
Are you getting it?
Activism is a huge and myriad field with many players who use what they can and know-money, music, film, talk shows-to make that Change.
Obama is the president, not some Italian-Jewish pop icon who gets his kick from showing his/her vagina.
I for one am glad that the President of such an important country like the USA is not walking around with a blonde wig or a suit made up of red meat-aren’t you?
Victor
Did Queerty, writers of bitchy articles and catty headlines, really attack the biggest public advocate of gay rights?
Both of the Maine senators are undecided on the issue. Even if it doesn’t have an effect, at least she’s standing up for what she believes in and using her celebrity to raise awareness. Every major news source is writing about the event and bringing it to public attention. Please explain to me why a gay blog is so down on the idea.
justin
If Senators change their votes because of a pop star, I have to wonder how they became Senators.
Victor
@Justin. They aren’t going to change because Lady Gaga says to vote against DADT. They are going to change their minds if they see a huge turnout of constituents that have shown up to show their support for the issue. She’s just a means of getting people involved.
Also, the really isn’t being held by her. It’s an SLDN rally with both gay and straight members of the military that she is attended to show her support.
I guess no deed goes unpunished anymore.
Kev C
I’m going to need a ton of coke before joining the army today. Who’s with me?
Evan
@Gary B.: Well, I don’t approve of marriage, but if the institution has to exist, it should provide equal access to everyone.
To each his own issue, I suppose. The basic principle of equal rights and equal treatment stands no matter what we may think of how people choose to exercise those rights.
Jill
Why is Queerty so hateful towards those that are allies? Is it because they are actually accomplishing more than the clearly disgruntled editors here? What the hell is wrong with you people? She is pushing to get people involved, that should be at least worth a “thank you.”
Gary B.
@Evan: Evan, I totally agree. I was just making somewhat of anti-war, anti-military statement.
I sincerely always wondered what gay men would want to go into the military. The chances of breaking a nail is extremely high.
Gary B.
Man, some people really can’t take a joke.
Chris
The person who wrote this is RETARDED. She’s the MOST FOLLOWED PERSON ON TWITTER AND FACEBOOK and she is taking a stance and pushing very strongly for the HOMOSEXUAL community. SO WTF is your problem.
This ignorant stance on someone so impacting/helpful is just ridiculous. it makes me want to boycott this site.
