We might have picked the nominees for the biggest celebrity feuds of 2012 a little prematurely: A Twitter battle has erupted between out CNN newsman Don Lemon and 21 Jump Street actor Jonah Hill after an awkward encounter in New York last night.
“Said hi to Jonah in a hotel. Think he thought I was a bellman,” Lemon tweeted. “Didn’t know his name til the bellman told me. A lesson to always be kind.”
Hill responded, “I said hi. What do you want me to do, move in with you? I was in a hurry. Didn’t realize you were a 12 year old girl. Peace.”
Not one to let the matter drop, Lemon replied: “Hardly. You’re not my type. But I know rude. And u were.”

That’s not how Oscar nominee Hill saw it. “I walked out of the restroom and found you waiting for me,” he tweeted back. “Shook hands, said hi and was on my way. Sorry if you found that rude.”
Lemon got the last word, responding, “[I] was waiting for luggage. Bellman & I laughed at how self-important u were. Just being honest. Be nice. Stardom is fleeting.”
So is Lemon mad Hill didn’t know who he was or that he didn’t stop to shoot the breeze?

Actually, Jonah probably was just coming out of the bathroom and on his way to go somewhere. He also probably had no idea who Don was, quickly shook hands and went on his way. Don is very used to notable people and leaders from all walks of life knowing exactly who he is and wanting to take time to speak with him. Yes, really. I’m also sure most celebrities are savvy enough to think, “Don can help me get my next project some press so I should kiss his ass.” Jonah probably said hello and went on his way as I have not seen him be rude to folks in public situations in the past. At the end of the day here, the only real mistake was taking this to twitter for no good reason.

So Lemon thought it was rude that someone he didn’t recognize didn’t recognize him and stop to chat? Dude, THAT is some vanity and the only rude thing was that an adult thought to publish this inane interaction on Twitter instead of moving on with his life. It only makes you look lame, Don.

I don’t get it. I just don’t get it. I woke up at 3am yesterday morning; walked down the hall to the bathroom (letting out two good ROOM CLEARERS along the way); took a nice long wiz;flushed the toilet and walked back down the hallway and got back in bed and went back to sleep in less than a minute and a half.
Why doesn’t someone find THAT newsworthy? What makes what these two holes screamed back and forth over cyberspace more important than what I “accomplished”?
I just don’t get it.

Why did the bellman tell Don Lemon what Jonah’s name was? Did Don Lemon ask the bellman what Jonah’s name was? I don’t get it. He had to have known who Jonah was. Otherwise why would he want to say hi? Unless he thought Jonah was hot, but he says Jonah is not his type. None of it makes sense no matter which way you spin it. I think Don Lemon needs to grow up.
