The Trump family strikes again, this time with the littler Donald comparing Syrian refugees to a bowl of poisoned Skittles. Oh, brother.
Yesterday afternoon, Donald Trump Jr tweeted a picture of a bowl of candy with the message, “If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you just three would kill you. Would you take a handful? That’s our Syrian refugee problem.”
He added, “Let’s end the politically correct agenda that doesn’t put America first.”

Obviously, the Syrian refugees are no more dangerous than anyone else.
In contrast,32,675 people were killed in car crashes in 2014. Right-wing domestic terrorists have killed more people since 9/11 than jihadists. There are so many bigger threats to the country than refugees — but hey, sure, go ahead and stigmatize the foreign brown people, that’s always a sign of a healthy democracy.

Some will say that the poisonous Skittles struck New York, New Jersey and Minnesota this weekend. The Skittles company said it was a poor analogy and I have to agree with them.
Even a poisonous Skittle won’t run into a crowded marketplace, shout “Allahu Ahkbar” and blow itself up killing 50 people, it won’t fly a plane into a building, it won’t go around gang raping every girl, boy, woman and goat unfortunate to get caught in its path.
