Drunk Driver Kills Two At LGBT “Dancin’ In The Street” Fair In Cleveland

A street fair for Cleveland’s LGBT community turned tragic when a drunk driver crashed through a steel barricade and killed two participants.

Mitchell Andelmo and Basil Bass suffered fatal injuries at Sunday’s Dancin’ in the Street fair when Timothy Spock careened into the crowd. Spock, who already had three DUIs, has been arrested and arraigned on vehicular-manslaughter charges.

“Mitch was amazing and we will always remember him for his positive attitude and short shorts,” read a post on Facebook. “We love you Mitch! Please keep his girlfriend Constance in your thoughts, as she was hit as well.”

Our prayers are with the families of the victims. Spock, on the other hand, can go $%@ himself.

Why do reports like this always focus on pictures of the perpetrator instead of the victims?

It disgusts me that the perpetrators are always the ones who get remembered, whilst te victims are often relegated to nothing more than footnotes.

Beam him directly to jail. Do not pass go and do not collect $200.

Why is someone with three DUI charges allowed to drive at all?

@steve: Three DUI charges is grounds for pulling a license in the state of Ohio. The article does not state that he was driving legally. It is not all that uncommon for someone to drive without a license.

@KW: Because the arrest photo is quickly available (and this one may even be from Spock’s earlier arrests), while the shocked and horrified families are not -understandably- concentrating on photos at that moment.
By the time they do get some out, our media’s ferret-on-a-double-espresso attention span has moved on to the Next Big Noise.

The face of Cleveland looks like the poster boy for inbreeding.
