Dustin Lance Black Wraps Gay Rights Miniseries, Collapses In Tom Daley’s Arms

Dustin Lance Black has wrapped his miniseries on gay rights, When We Rise, after years of work and tweeted out his accomplishment and excitement for a vacation in Florida with fiancé Olympian Tom Daley.

Production began back in March, but Black spent years researching, interviewing and writing for the series. Milk director Gus Van Sant will direct a couple episodes, and it will star Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Michael K. Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell and Rachel Griffiths. Black won an Oscar for his Milk screenplay, and also wrote J. Edgar and episodes of the TV show “Big Love.”

Black and Daley announced their engagement in 2015.
