A big hit in its native New Zealand, this coming-of-age dramedy, set in 1984, sees a Michael Jackson-obsessed, fantasy-prone 11-year-old, Boy, reconnect his ex-convict father while experiencing all sorts of growing pains. It’s a lovely, funny, inventive piece of international cinema – think Wes Anderson with a Kiwi accent – and well worth a gander! Extras include interviews, behind the scenes footage, and an Oscar-nominated short film, which inspired the feature, by director Taika Waititi.

I’m still curious why Queerty hasn’t posted anything about the movie “Enders Game” that was written by a board member of NOM and devout Mormon Orson Scott Card.
There is currently a petition and boycott being planned for the movie.
Queerty, are you again avoiding stories that put anything Mormon in a bad light? A MAJOR studio film written by a board member of NOM would seem to be of interest. It’s hit all the other gay blogs.
